I'm curious what everyone else thought of Mr. Kil. Personally, I really enjoyed him. I really hated the name Mr. Kil when I first heard Neal and Bobby were going to use this name, but after seeing the film it worked. This guy was born to be a hench. And his surname probably comes from the fact that he comes from a long line of henchs.

When he introduced himself to Bond, 'I'm Mr. Kil', I was kind of bedazzled. Why the heck was he just standing there to tell Bond his name. But after hearing the 'I want to use the lasers' line I understood. This guy does nothing but henching. He was there to introduce himself to Bond because he takes his hench job seriously, and he thought that it was properly menacing to introduce himself to potential rivals as they arrive.

The question is whether he just introduced himself to Bond or whether he stood out and introduced himself to all of the guests as they arrived.

Mr. Kil:I'm Mr. Kil

First Guest:Um... Yeah.

Mr. Kil:I'm Mr. Kil

Second Guest:Keep moving Muffy. Just don't look him in the eyes

Mr. Kil:I'm Mr. Kil

Third Guest:Bob Smith-Jeevers. Good to be here.

Mr. Kil:I'm Mr. Kil

Fourth Guest:Ah! Go away!

Mr. Kil:I'm Mr. Kil

Fifth Guest:Eric Stratton, rush chairman. Damn glad to meet you.

Mr. Kil:I'm Mr. Kil

Sixth Guest:Here's the keys, Mr. Kil. The luggage is in the boot.

Mr. Kil:I'm Mr. Kil

Well, he did introduce himself to Bond. What did you expect him to say? "Hey there Mr. Bond, my name's Hubert Killingford, but my friends call me Mr. Kil"

I liked Kil, and how they used him in the film. I liked how he seemed to be Zao's henchman (a la Sandor from TSWLM), and every time I see his face when he says, "I'll use the LAZAH!", I just get such a kick. He was a very minor, but wise touch to the film and provided a good opponent for Bond.

It's not a question of what Kil says to Bond, but why he said anything to Bond at all. But like I said I understood the why later in the film.

I saw the movie twice but I cant remember, did Kil take in Bond's luggage? If he did, it would seem courteous to introduce ones self before taking their luggage.

I thought he was great, surprised me that the name didn't come off as stupid as I thought it would....

Figured as much. Well then, my point is made. Its common courtesy to introduce yourself when you take someones luggage.

Yes, and plus, let's not forget, this is a Bond movie. Any villainous stooge that has more than two minutes of screen time MUST have some sort of a name...and what better time for Kil to announce it?

He should have been bigger (no, not physically). The laser scene was stupid, I'd rather he'd been a 'die for your boss' Oddjob-type who would fight Jinx while the ice palace was melting, caring nothing for his own pitiful life.

I agree with Mister Asterix. I did think Kil's seemingly just standing there purely to tell Bond his name stuck out like a sore thumb. Of course, we the audience know that that was indeed the whole purpose of Kil's presence, just so that Bond could make us laugh with a witty quip in reply.

I'd've preferred it if Bond had said, a la Roger Moore to Alison Doody in AVTAK: "But of COURSE you are."

If Mr. Kil was taking Bond's luggage, maybe he should've said, "I'm Mr. Kil, your bellboy. I do a little hencing on the side as well, so don't forget to tip me!"

Just a reason for Bond to do that silly gag wasn't it? And he died soon enough to be forgettable for me. I didn't dislike him as much as Vlad... what a SILLY henchman/trainer. Who has hair like that?! Only there to say "he beat your time boss" (which got a huge laugh). What a **** and pointless henchman. Surely they could've worked it so that Frost was his trainer. Less characters more character development for Frost... gave her more of a closeness to Moon/Graves and possibly a reason for being evil... she was his henchwoman all along.

Now that's funny. As a matter of fact, I've been walking around all day today with Mr. Kil's voice in my head. I keep thinking of him grinning and remarking, "Nah! I'll use the laser!" It's almost a shame he had such a small part. Oh, well. He was just a standard issue evil henchman. I suppose they're a dime a dozen.

Wasn't Vlad just supposed to be Graves' techno geek, the Boris to Graves' Trevelyan? Graves seemed to be constantly barking orders at Vlad to fix equipment for him. Didn't Vlad create Icarus?

I wish we'd been given a clearer reason for Frost's treachery, not to mention much more screentime for the character. Dammit if Rosamund Pike isn't one of the most stunning Bond girls of all time, come to think of it.

Less action more character for the next one I think... or a longer film to squeeze it all in. This one was long but the action made it feel so short.

Mr. Kill was hardcore. I thought he added alot given his limited screen time.

Mr.*, what did you expect Mr. Kil saying?

He appears to be something like the butler: guest arrives, he welcomes him, takes the luggage, hands it to the boy, next guest etc. And if he's the butler, it's also his job to present himself to every guest, no matter how silly this might sound to us.

We just happen to witness a scene when a certain (and indeed very special) guest arrives. It's just standard operating procedure for a butler (but I agree, ever since Dr. No, house servants are primary suspects for being henchmen :)).

That is a great point. I think that may have been the genius of the character. Neal and Bobby saw this guy as a standard, garden-variety hench and they wrote him that way rather than trying to give him artificial depth.

Like I mentioned before, it's not what he said but that he said anything at all. And also as I mentioned in the end I quite like how they handled it.

As for Vlad, I'd say he's a lackey, not a hench.

Mr. Kil and Vlad were both hilarious... and very memorable.

"I'm Mr. Kil." --> Who just introduces themself like that, out of nowhere? lol... Bond's quip was just as funny.

"Boss... he beat your time..." --> My favourite line in the movie... Vlad couldn't have said it at a better time... and the looks on both his and Graves' face were priceless!

Both great henchmen

Absolutely! This was probably my favorite single line in the film, too. I was in absolute hysterics the first time I heard it, and it may be because it's the one liner I never saw coming. Hilarious.

I liked Mr. Kil. His presence is short, sweet and to the point.

I find him much superior to "Gabor" in TWINE, whom to me was as cardboard "mean looking guy" as you can get.

yeah, Kil was a good villian, that's what I like about the recent bond films, more henchmen, more guys that can actually fight

examples-goldfinger: basically Oddjob was the only good fighter
moonraker: Jaws and Charr (I forget how you spell it, and I don't feel like looking in IMDB.com right now)

then in TWINE we had some cool guys: Gabor, Davidov, Lacaise (SP?), Bullion

DAD: Zao, Kil, Vlad

my point is, we now have more villians, although soem die quickly and suddenly, they all put up more of a fight, and play bigger roles.

when I saw a trailer, I though "looks like just a minor villian, for a 1 minute action scene." but I was wrong

more charactors that are important, aren't killed like a knife through butter.

Kil was cool, I hope to see more charactors with his qualities

You forgot, Renard was the main fighter in TWINE, Graves was definatly more than just a button-pusher in DAD.

I miss the hand-to-hand combat. Why couldn't Bond have punched more people than the annoying British guy in Cuba? The sword fight was excellent, but I was hoping for a better fight with Zao (the chandelier was cool, though).

Well, then let's face it - we would've had a lot of hand-to-hand fights - Bond fought Kil amongst the lasers, fought Graves at Blades and in the Anatov. It would have been a little too much to have him fight Zao hand-to-hand. Plus, they needed a spectacular car chase (and they sure delivered), so why not throw Zao's "demise" in there (I still think they should bring him back).
