PC Nightfire Cheats

Scroll down....
I just found the PC Cheats for Nightfire and they are Very Similar to Half-Lifes Cheats (Gearbox made Opposing Force and is using the H/L engine, so why not use the same cheat codes).
Check out this page:
http://www.cheat-che...es/jamesbnf.htm
You have to create a file called autoexec.cfg in your 'bond' directory.
Put the console and Cheat Code in the file and save it.
Note that the actual God mode is actually 'God' and not '-God' as noted in the URL above.
Once in the game, press the `/~ button on your keyboard to open up the ingame console (just like half-life). The Cheat Codes noted in the URL above work for the Demo and the Retail.
I went to planethalflife.com and got a list of Cheat Codes for Half-Life and found that the command for all ammo and weapons is the same in Nightfire, with one exception. In Nightfire, you are only allowed to carry 4 weapons at a time. The command is 'impulse 101' (without the quotes)
I was going to find some of the other console codes for H/L to see if scripting is enabled in this Game or not.
It's kinda lame that the same cheat codes are in both games.

I don't see a file that has all your keyboard binds in a text file like in H/L/ it must be done behind the scenes.
I've found that you can bind a key or keys to say messages to people while in game. There are two message modes in the game:
1) Talk to everyone. This allows everyone who is playing the game to read whatever you write.
2)Talk to your teammates (In CTF and team DM)
To bind a key you must open your console within Multiplayer (to do this look at a past post of mine http://forums.comman...=&threadid=6655 and add the console command to the autoexec.cfg file) and type:
For everyone playing:
bind
ex. bind p "say Incoming!!!!"
For only your team mates in CTF or Team DM:
bind
ex. bind h "say_team I'm on Defense! Go get the flag!!!"
I'll post more as I find them.
This is another cool thing that the Console version of this game doesn't have.

I've created the .cfg file in notepad, put in the two lines of code, saved it in every conceivable directory (both individually and at the same time), and it either simply won't work, or it'll totally crash NF when I run it.

I have tried adding the .cfg file numerous times....I can't get it to pull down at all....it acts as if I have done nothing to the game. Will the fact that I am running windows XP have anything to do with it?
Each time I try to get the console mode to work, I get more frustrated.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

Try doing a print screen (keyboard, should be next to scroll lock) of your Night Fire Directory (ex: C:GamesNightFire) and your Bond Subdir (ex: C:GamesNightFireBond) and post the links to the image (I'm guessing the image tag would show the hole image... giving a slow loading time to 56k'ers).
Em.. This is kinda a stupid (stupid in like just the thing you'd hit yourself on the head for..)... But.. em.. If you modify the shortcut.. You have to use the shortcut.. You can use the launcher.. cause the launcher doesnt have what the shortcut has.. (I know, I know, its stupid but some people actually make that mistake..).
And.. em.. If that's the problem.. dont worry about it.. Everyone's a newbee at some point

Like my friend

Em, also.. What do you have written in the autoexec.cfg ?? it won't do anything if there's nothing in it.. (no commands to automaticly execute)
The lines that MUST be in the file are;
sv_cheats 1
console 1
You can also put sv_iamdone (which enables mission select).
Hmm.. I just noticed that the 'maximum size' for an attached file is completely in bytes... heh. Even windows doesnt show that. (unless you do a properties thing).

The autoexec.cfg file is positively in the bond directory and contains the 2 lines:
sv_cheats 1
console 1
The problem I am running into with the target line of the shortcut is that windows won't allow me to add the "+console 1" to the target line. I try to modify the target line and I simply get a message from windows telling me that
" The name 'Program FileEA GamesNightfirebond.exe +console 1' specified in the Target box is not valid. Make sure the path and file name are correct."
I have tried putting the "+console 1" in many different parts of the target line;after the .exe, after the file name and before the .exe, putting in space, leaveing out spaces, etc.... I can't get windows to accept it in any way, shape, or form.

Try this...
Where it says the target line whatever. be sure that the path is in quotes (if it has spaces, the path gets cut to whatever is before the space.... ex: If the real path is C:Program FilesEaGames...., then it will read it as C:Program .. if its "C:Program FilesEagames.... then it will read it as C:Program FilesEaGames..... )
From your post, I noted a few things that could be the cause (unless u made a typo in the post..)
you start off with your C:programfileseagamesnightfire ...
It should be C:Program FilesEa GamesNightFire (if im not mistaken, thats the default dir.. I change the dir..)
It should be C:Program FilesEa Games.....
If its just 'Program Files' it wont work.. (unless you add a to it.. :/). It's also Program Files, not Program File..
As for the autoexec.cfg. Uncheck the 'hide extensions for known filetypes' (this should be in.. tools, folder options ?). Make sure the file is autoexec.cfg and not autoexec.cfg.cfg (it can happen.. it wouldnt normally do anything but the game needs 'autoexec.cfg' but windows interprets whatever is behind the last period ' . ') so a .CFG.CFG file is still a .CFG file.)
If these were typos. Sorry

It looks like the shortcut may be looking for a %PATH% variable. As suggested above, edit the shortcut so that it matches the actual path that the bond.exe is in.
Also, make sure that if the directory path to your bond.exe has spaces in any of the directories to put the entire path to the bond exe is in quotes.
From the looks of your path above your shortcut should look something like this:
"C:Program FilesEA GamesNightfirebond.exe" +console 1
The path to the executable should be in quotes. All variables after the executable should be left unquoted.
Hope this helps.

What I would suggest here is to open the autoexec.cfg file again, and enter the cheat codes.
After the codes have been entered, Click 'File' -> 'Save As'.
In the 'File Name:' Space enter the following text (with the double quotes):
"autoexec.cfg"
This will ensure that the file will get saved as a *.cfg file.
Chances are that the file was saved as a autoexec.cfg.tct file.
