Who had the best Gunbarrel Sequence?

I know some of the Bonds had more than one gunbarrel, but think of your favourite of each Bond and then choose the best. (Could a mod add a poll?)

I also like Moore's first one.

And so:
1. Brosnan TND
2. Moore TSWLM
3. Craig CR
4. Dalton LTK
5. Moore FYEO
Honourable Mention: Connery in GF and TB

I've always been a fan of the OHMSS opening (including the barrell stopping halfway across the screen "Broccolli and Saltzman" etc.) where Lazenby takes a knee. Best intro music too.
I too like the Broccoli and Saltzman sting, but It's such a shame that the blood blots out Bond, as if to hide the fact that it's not Connery (probably a coincidence).
And I'm not a fan of the intro music there.
I'm by no means a connoisseur of gunbarrels, but it's one of the things that I think Pierce Brosnan did pretty well - a confident, strutting walk, and natural shot down the barrel. Having said that, I really didn't like the CGI bullet for DIE ANOTHER DAY - unnecessary - but not Brosnan's fault.
Agree entirely. Where is the blood even coming from if Bond's bullet is shooting into the barrel? Surely that would just jam the gun and the assailant would be unharmed?
I'm thinking about this too much. :-P

No, it just means that you can think. It's always been idiotic at worst and abstract at best. Even if the 'kill' is a headshot versus coming through the gun barrel - good luck explaining how the blood shows up. And just because it's stupid doesn't mean it can't be fun.

I've always just imagined that the blood is spraying over the wound down over the barrel, something that's entirely likely depending on where Bond (who peculiarly appears to be attending some sort of black-tie function held in a big white room) shoots the assailant.

I'm from the "I enjoy DAD for what it is" camp. I'm fully aware of stupid things being entertaining anyway.

2nd - Turning the Bond theme on its head and setting the dangerous and tense tone of the film in seconds, mixed with a perfect walk and casual shot. It's Dalton in 'Licence To Kill'.
3rd - Perfect, classic Bond theme use of orchestral standards with a very smooth walk and good shot, apart from his left arm floating upwards ever so slightly as the blood comes down... but stil solid. It's Brosnan in 'Tomorrow Never Dies'.

For Your Eyes Only's gunbarrel is very well done as well, I mean... THAT COWBELL! (no sarcasm either)
I also love the gunbarrel for GoldenEye, classy, but with a more modernistic/and updated touch to it.
Having seen some pics of the Skyfall gunbarrel, I can say, It's below average, I was hoping it would be of the classic gunbarrel, but It's a completely new design overall and I hate it. I bet Bond 24 will have a completely new gunbarrel too, if so then I guess the Craig era will be the era with the most Gunbarrel design changes.

Best music? I love the jazzy feel of Diamonds are Forever but For Your Eyes Only and License to Kill are both very powerful. Never been a fan of John Barry's gun barrels in his later Bond scores. He kept using more or less the same arrangement, whereas with Connery he experimented more with different feels.
I'm also a fan of the dots spotting to reveal the producer credit. I wouldn't object to that making a return.

I don't think the idea of the gunbarrel was really perfected until the Moore era, although I do like the Goldfinger one. After that, I think it's a combination of the actor's movement and the accompanying music of that particular film.
And so:
1. Brosnan TND
2. Moore TSWLM
3. Craig CR
4. Dalton LTK

Connery wasn't in the GF gun barrel. It was Bob Simmons. Connery didn't do his own gun barrel until Thunderball.

Licence To Kill - The music, look and feel of it is all there. Perfect 10 if you ask me.

I never understood why they got Connery's stuntman (Bob Simmons) to do the gunbarrel walk for Dr No, FRWL and Goldfinger?
I think this topic needs a voting poll
.
Agreed

yes! This is definitely one of the best.... Timothy Dalton was a good James Bond in my opinion.
