Anyway, I do hope they'll release remastered discs from all the soundtracks. There are some that I really would like to get (TSWLM, most notably, since for some reason I've always been attracted to the "disco"-vibed Bond theme).

And yes, we need remastered and expanded editions of ALL the scores.
Well, I need them.
Okay, need is maybe a too strong word.
But I want them.
Please.

Oh, good, at least "Make it last all night", "The Experience of Love" and "Only myself to blame" are on this. So this truly is a Best of. Kudos to the guy choosing the tracks.
Personally, I like seeing a set (finally!) that includes the songs from the end credits and other vocals from the films (and even rejected from the films) as well as the title tracks. Of course I'd prefer it not to be marred by "The Experience of Love," but then I'd be a hypocrite since I just said I wanted all the end credits vocals! But then this doesn't do that anyway. It's odd that "If You Asked Me To" is excluded. I would have preferred that to "The Experience of Love" if it was a choice. (You couldn't have loaded up Disc 2 with ALL the wretched vocals from the LTK soundtrack though...) But "Under the Mango Tree," the BJ Arnau LALD, "Mr. Kiss Kiss Bang Bang" (though of course we've had collections with that before), "If There Was a Man," and ESPECIALLY "Surrender," "Where Has Everybody Gone?" and "Only Myself to Blame" (a Scott Walker/David Arnold collaboration does NOT belong on a list with "Make It Last All Night" and "The Experience of Love!") absolutely deserve a place on an official Bond collection!

There's a few end credits renditions still missing right?
Die Another Day remix and wasn't there some score also at the end of Die Another Day?
The Bond theme from the end of Quantum.
The Bond theme for the end of TWINE.
Those would've been nice inclusions.
It's a decent set, I guess but the 30th was still cooler at the time it was released. It really had a decent rarities disc as well as including some of the radio ads, which was such a treat at the time!

A disc of title songs that were released a dozen times before, and a disc with cues that were apparently chosen by a monkey randomly pointing at track numbers?
Sweet mercy.

So, this is really the only thing we are getting for the 50th anniversary of James freaking Bond?
A disc of title songs that were released a dozen times before, and a disc with cues that were apparently chosen by a monkey randomly pointing at track numbers?

Yes. Maybe there's some good news though and those Roger Moore scores that were not expanded in 2003 are being worked on at this moment and will need a bit more time before release.
One can hope right?

Isn´t it wonderful that this "collection" is already dated since it does not include Adele´s song?
That's what I was a bit niffed at, it's not 50 Years Of James Bond really is it...it's 46. If this could have held off a while longer to include at least Adele's 'Skyfall' song, it would really have encapsulated 50 Years of 007.
Shame.

Ironic that the 30th anniversary release was better than this one, 20 years later--and without even a new Bond film that year.
However, the 40th anniversary soundtracks with the up to then previously unreleased material would have presumably exhausted the potential for new material this time around. If I remember correctly, the masters for the the few scores without anything additional had been lost forever--at least that was the announcement then.
Are there plans to rerelease the scores--with possibly newly unearthed material?

Disappointing. Not one previously unreleased track (unless I missed something). And not including the Adele song instantly puts it out of date.

No one knows about the older scores being reissued. No news at all on that front.
I thought the track listing for the Bond 50 years disc 2 cd collection is pretty odd. I made my own Itunes playlist but added and substituted some a bit too.

I remember when I was about 10 years old, showing a mate the film for the first time, his expression when that song kicked in was absolutely hilarious, he gave me a look as if to say "wtf".
How on Earth did a song like that make it onto a Bond soundtrack, let alone a 'best of' compilation.
See what happens when John Barry doesn't have any input on a Bond soundtrack? it instantly dates it.

The album contains a Shirley Bassey's version of "Mr Kiss, Kiss Bang Bang" . This was the only piece on the album that I did not have.It was not on the Thunderball Soundtrck.
I have it on the 30th anniversary 2 cd set.
Make it last all night long, dear God wasn't that the terrible pørn style track from 'For Your Eyes Only'?

Yeah. I raised an eyebrow when I saw it was included. Horrible choice. I did not add that one on my 50th playlist...

Strange more unreleased tracks are not included. The 30th Anniversary 2 cd set got that right at the time. They included unreleased tracks which made it much more interesting as a set.

1. Gunbarrel and James Bond Theme leading into Three Blind mice from Doctor No.

7. We Have All The Time In The World (shorter version as in the film and emphasized guitars)
8. Ice Skating music from OHMSS. (I think this exists but couldn't fit on the expanded album)
9. Diamonds Are Forever (the expanded album seems to haev given us the film version but Bassey's voice does sound different on the actual film)

12. Nobody Does it Better (shorter version without the fading out)

I don't understand what you mean by "This stands as the film version already"; but what I do know is that the film version of You Know My Name remains unpublished... which IMO it's such a big shame!. In fact, I would buy a whole 2CD compilation, if they put at least that version from CR score, not only for collections purposes, but because it's so much better than the other versions. What I'd like to see is an album collection of the actual film versions of the songs and themes. Probably some bureaucratic red tape preventing this but would make a change from the standard compilation each time. Some differences are obvious whilst others are more subtle. Of course for some of the below, an expanded album wouldn't go amiss anyway.
1. Gunbarrel and James Bond Theme leading into Three Blind mice from Doctor No.
2. James Bond is back From Russia With Love (with the extra Bond theme intro bar and emphasized maracas)
