I've been going to American Cinematheque events for almost 2 years now. Been to the double feature of Escape From New York and L.A. with John Carpenter there, The Town and Gone Baby Gone with Ben Affleck, The Fighter with Amy Adams and director David O. Russell, Manhunter with Michael Mann, Big Trouble In Little China with Carpenter and so on.

Definitely excited to see them celebrating a month of Bond for the 50th anniversary! My dad would love to Casino Royale again on the big screen and with Quantum Of Solace so I'm sure we'll be there on the 24th at the Aero Theatre in Santa Monica!

Thank you for posting this JCR, I would've missed this and probably cried after hearing about it after it already happened.

Thanks to belonging to an older generation I've seen all the films on the big screen - not all at their premieres, though; there used to be far more reruns in the 70s/80s. Anyway, whenever you have the chance to see one of the Bonds on the big screen - go for it! It really makes an enormous difference, all the cinematography is tailored to the big picture.

Agreed, my first Bond film on the big screen was Die Another Day and I was 8 years old and I was blown away by it. I had seen the previous films on VHS and DVD, but to actually see it on the big screen was amazing. Same followed with Casino Royale and Quantum Of Solace. It truly is a special experience seeing Bond adventures in the theater. If I had the time and money I would do all 22 films.

If you have to pick and choose, go for the ones shown the least; 'Dr No' will get shown plenty this year and 'Goldfinger' and 'Thunderball' are always popping up. The first few Roger's don't show that often and TLD/LTK almost never.
I think the YOLT/OHMSS double, the Rog triple bill and the Dalton double are a must see.

I've also been thinking of going for GoldenEye and Tomorrow Never Dies, but for sure The Living Daylights and Licence To Kill are another choice!

As a younger fan you really need to see those early Connery's on the big screen. The wonderful colour saturated cinematography of Ted Moore and Freddie Young is a thing of beauty. Also the big screen has a habit of taking years off the films. No longer of their time but of all time.

I wish that I was anywhere near LA so I could go to some of these. I'd love to see the Dalton films on the big screen, and the Dr. No / From Russia With Love double-feature would be a treat as well.

Last year they had a double feature of OHMSS and DAF and George Lazenby was there for a discussion. I was going to go, but unfortunately I had class an couldn't go.
