Either way, that whole sequence reads to me like Bond rehabilitation in The Man With The Golden Gun (Novel).
Also the 007 Legends tie in is that Bond is drowning and having flash backs of previous missions, so are we to assume that at some point in Skyfall Bond is drowning? Sorry if this was already pointed out at some point.

Anyone know when the full trailer is coming...?
I assume in August and to be attached with Sony Picture's Total Recall.

Really August? thats seems pretty far away. I figured maybe around the end of June to mid July, But they have been keepin pretty hush hush on SkyFall so in the end i guess they would do that if so.

I think this is almost certainly it, albeit released a few days early for Cannes. There was talk that the Skyfall theatrical promo will be attached to MIB-3, which releases 25 May (USA). So, I'm wondering if this teaser-trailer is it, or could there be a more elaborate version in the cinema?

I agree i cannot see the full trailer been released until they finish the editing of the film so maybe August time.

Roger Deakins has sure brought a lot of style to SKYFALL.
Agreed. There are some wonderful visuals in this trailer.
My favourites are the shot at about 0:50 of Craig running towards the camera, and, especially, Craig floating towards the dragon's head with the fireworks going off in the sky (about 0:47), which is one of the most striking visuals I've ever seen in a Bond film (and will no doubt look awesome on the big screen).
As a Bond fan, I know that I'm biased, but this is pretty much the most exciting trailer I've ever seen. I must have watched it about ten times already and I'm still not tired of it. It's easily the best Bond teaser trailer since GOLDENEYE.
Granted, there's as yet no proof that Mendes and co. have reinvented the wheel, exactly - and the film's influences are immediately apparent (although not necessarily bad ones by any means). This trailer basically looks and feels like TINKER TAILOR SOLDIER SPY meeting THE DARK KNIGHT, with a generous pinch of Bourne and a side order of MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE III. So far, so predictable. Didn't really expect anything else, to be honest.
What matters, though, is that it looks as though a cracking film is coming our way. Whether a dish is original matters less than how well it's prepared, and it appears that Mendes and Deakins are cordon bleu chefs at the top of their game.
The only bit I don't like is that sort of "smashing in" establishing shot of Shanghai at about 0.40 - somewhat hackneyed and Tony Scott-ish. But I do like the non-use of the James Bond Theme - most refreshing.
All in all, terrific stuff.

Sure, we've seen Bond down-and-out before, but this is a far cry from Bond just hopping over to the local yacht club, getting a quick shave, and finding himself immediately back in business.
Of all the sequences in SKYFALL, I look forward to that moment (and what follows) the most. Pure Bondian exoticism, with the touch of the surreal one often finds in Fleming.
I suspect that's an edit just for the trailer (see also the speed-ramping in the CASINO ROYALE trailer). Doesn't seem like Mendes' style, really. The only bit I don't like is that sort of "smashing in" establishing shot of Shanghai at about 0.40 - somewhat hackneyed and Tony Scott-ish.

Agreed. If Casino Royal felt like Bond begins than this seems like The British Knight Rises! Scruffy, older, out of practice...But...I'm so not complaining. Loved every ounce of that trailer....best trailer since..I don't know...god that rules...all Brosnan's trailers except for DAD were damn good but since looks like art on every frame...just beautiful...I'm absolutely mental right now.

And as 'Casino Royale's teaser was our first glimpse of portraying Craig as James Bond, they had to go heavy with the action and the pulsating music to convince us Bond IS Back! Now, I think this is so much more stylish, so much more Craig, and so much more our Bond that we don't need the frills to convince us we have our man. Love it!

Actually, the trailer essentially reminds me INCEPTION (which is a great thing). Same colors, same cinematography. Good point.

The Daily Mai's wrong. It's "Done."Wait, I think I'm missing something. During the word association part. When the interviewer says 'Skyfall', I'm hearing Bond's response to be 'Done.' But the UK Daily Mail is reporting it as 'Gun'? Or was that a misquote a few posts back?
Absolutely no.

Don't agree with that at all. Deakins's cinematography here looks far more colourful, exotic, and soulful than any of Pfister's work in INCEPTION.

What first stood out to me was the rooftop scene showing Bond from behind. Immediately I'm reminded of the Pam Landry "You Look Tired" scene (Bourne), or even Spy Game in the FujiFilm rooftop sequence. Sure movies always borrow a bit from one another, but Quantum and Sky are beginning to look manufactured rather than orginal. Some interjection of comedy is an essential part of the series...I'm not sure if I see where that will come into play. The Daily Mai's wrong. It's "Done."

Can anyone speculate as to why the films have become decidedly dark? Was Dr. NO a dark movie for its time? Perhaps the movies have spanned over so many years, one can't fully comprehend their evolution unless they saw each movie when it was first released.
I'll be at the theater the day Skyfall comes out...I just hope to see the elements every Bond goer goes to see. The trailer doesn't show much hope.

Whilst we're on the subject of what “every Bond goer” wants - I’m a Bond goer and the teaser trailer gives me plenty of hope.
