Absolutely amazing! Too much regarding visuals to say. There's something Nolan-esque about it. On the sound side of things, good thing they no longer use the choral soundtrack from CR/QOS. What do people think of the electronic sounding Bond theme playing along with the Skyfall title card. I love it but can imagine some people not being too happy with that.

Wow, one vote from someone who didn´t like it. How´s that possible?!? I guess some fans are never happy. Or we all like different cooked eggs.

Well, I was getting pretty tired of that choral soundtrack, so it´s all fine by me.

Striking. They even teased the theme at the end. Absolutely marvelous. Will return in a few hours. Awesome stuff!

If you listen carefully it's actually the Bond theme throughtout, just twisted in an odd way.

The attitude in which Craig delivers the line: "Some men are coming to kill us..." seems characteristic of the Bond we all know and love, and in that sense, it feels as a direct continuation of his acting in the last scene of CR (as if QOS never happened).

Hmmm I wonder. It's a bit of a stretch, but the music in the first half of the trailer has hints of the Bond theme. I wonder, could this be a teaser of Newmans score?

It's fine I suppose. Teasers are so generic that it doesn't matter. It ultimately tells us nothing about the film or the story.

I really like the fact that they only tease the audience with some glimpses - instead of giving away too much.

Great trailer. Really liked James Bond firing 2 shots in time with the music. Also the shadowy character appears to be walking towards the building on fire and not away from it.

So right. I’ve calmed down now. I can talk about the Skyfall trailer properly. It looks amazing! The cinematography looks stunning, honestly have a feeling that this going to be the best visually looking Bond film ever. I love the fact that we didn’t get a typical Bond theme action montage. Even though thats what I was hoping for, it just shows how much faith they have in the plot this time. With the Quantum of Solace teaser they just showed a typical action montage of killing and fighting, but the fact that this one is full of Bond running, and training, and looking mad, just gets more more excited.

Love the shot of Bond and M outside the DB5 as well. Like I said, the cinematography in this one looks so so good!

Also, it’s refreshing to see a Bond trailer with no “I thought I could trust you” speech from Judi Dench. She’s barely in it at all.

Once they've started, maybe.

I second that.

No "I need to know I can trust you." or "Get Bond!" or "He's a danger..." or "Restrict Bond's movements.". He IS our good guy after all so nice to see him be treated like one...apart from the opening interrogation it looks like!

Indeed, that electronic rise of the theme as the title comes up is everything. short, sharp, excellent teaser. best cinematography in a Bond film ever.

Agree it is some of the best cinematography in the series. But there is nothing annoucing "Bond" to me. They don't even mention his name. I find it as dull as the Bourne Legacy teaser (infact it follows exactly the same tired format). The one area where the trailer could really differentiate itself as a Bond movie was the music. Now don't get me wrong, I don't want to sit through the same choral or rock renditions we've had for past trailers. Something new please! Now I'm becoming concerned (needlessly so) that Newman might end up producing some minimalist soundscapes emo nonsense rather giving it a lush extravagant orchestral feel it deserves for the 50th Anniversary. Talking of which - I had a play with the theme myself over the weekend, but I posted that over here.

God forbid this actually looks like a film first, rather than some hodge podge of action, martini, vodka, action, girls, action, champagne, action, tuxedo, action, Bond theme, action, action, action.

Also, unlike what everyone seems to think the bond theme is actually there. You just have to listen for it.

Amazing and breathtaking. Honestly now my favorite bond teaser ever made.

Music wise, frankly, I wouldnt be surprised if some of this is Newmans score or something he did for he trailer. Those muted strings at the start are extremely newmanesque. The subtle electronic hint of the bond theme is brilliant and works exceptionally well with the vibe seen in the trailer...I want more.

Sooooo glad they ditched the CR bond theme....and even without an in your face version of the theme, this trailer is undeniably bond.

Yes, the theme is there, but it's like listening to it through Goldfish bowl. Honestly, I'd rather listen to yet another choral rendition (and I'd clearly really "rather not").

I'm not adverse to some reinvention. But this more or less the same cookie-cutter as Bourne Legacy's trailer. Some random pseudo-cryptic interogation talk at the start then flashes and bangs. There is nothing revolutionary here, nothing which stands out that I haven't seen already. Nothing particularly Bond. I was just expected more. But it's a teaser. No one cares about my opinion and I'll get over it providing the film is a belter. ;)

Just thought I'd share how our UK's Daily Mail newspaper, rather well respected in places, divulges this highly anticipated debut Teaser for 'Skyfall' to the masses...

"It's one of the most highly anticipated movies of the year. And with just a week away before filming is finally wrapped up on the new James Bond film Skyfall, the producers have now released the first teaser trailer of the movie. It coincides with the 50th anniversary of the iconic franchise so producers have ensured excitement reaches fever pitch as Daniel Craig returns to take on the super spy role.
The clip starts with Craig being interrogated in what seems to be a word association task. But when the investigator sitting opposite him says the word 'Skyfall', he appears startled before he finally said the word 'gun' and walked out of the room."

"..the clip also gave a first glimpse of the two new Bond girls, played by Naomie Harris and Tonia Sotiropoulou. Tonia smoulders as she is shown briefly in a figure hugging frock with her hair blowing in the wind as she stands at a large window."

...quality journalism for a hot topic! They even mention Bond "running through streets as helecopters hover overhead." I didn't see that, did I miss it?

[size=4] :rolleyes:

Nothing revolutionary? Really? Aside from, in my opinion, the fact it's the most stylistic and visually stunning bond film ever produced? Of course the teaser looks like tons of other teasers... there's a formula for the way trailers are cut in order to catch the audiences attention. Something totally strange and off the wall would most likely have an adverse effect on prospective audiences.

This next bit is sure to start a thread war.. though I hope it doesn't, just stating my opinion. Now that said, something strange and off the wall for the music (like the bit at the end) would be a welcome change in my mind. I hate to burst all of the bubbles of the peeps on the "it's bonds 50th birthday, we need a John Barry sounding score" train... don't think that's gonna happen. Frankly, I hope it doesn't. Never thought I'd be saying this.. but I'm ready for another Eric Serra type approach to shake things up. Yes, bond is 50, but that sound we grew up with doesnt fit the mature vibe this film is putting fourth based on the teaser... bond is older, he's matured. Let the music reflect this with something totally new and more gritty in sound.

Oh, the huge Tom / Dhol hits are just backed with an off kilter bass synth... game scores (Battlefield 3) and Game Trailers have been doing it for years now. Cool stuff, and also effectively utilized in the trailer. Definitely getting a techy / gritty vibe from both some of the visuals and the music heard in the teaser. Dig it.

I thought Sam Mendes was directing Skyfall? Apparently it's Chris Nolan!

This trailer was Inception + Dark Knight - Bond

Still, I'm sure it will be a great film. :)

“Bond with capital B”? This looks very much like a teaser for a Nolan film. Everything from the drab color palette, the digital look, to the dramatic sound effects á la Inception. But I guess this is the only way you can sell an action movie these days, "Give the people what they want!"

Anyway, this teaser is more or less what I expected minus 30 seconds of Dench dialogue. I now have a feeling that Skyfall is not going to be a huge departure from the style they set up with CR and QOS, which is probably a good thing for many people around here. Some of the footage gave me a QOS déjà vu.

If by drab color palette you mean, "not at all drab color palette", and by "digital look" you mean, "best cinematography we've ever had," and by QOS déjà vu you mean, "except with an apparently badass story and well choreographed action one can actually watch," then...sure?

Then again, I may be pre-judging. Silly. ;)

Right! I bring news.

The UK Version of the trailer has a shot of Bond punching a bodyguard in the face wearing a tux, replacing the shot of Bond and the henchman underwater.
