I was contemplating this the other day. Now I know we are all avid Bond fans and we hold the franchise close to the heart but be honest, is there a Bond film you haven't seen? It could be that you hate the certain premise of a film that keeps away from it. Maybe you lost count of how many films Moore was actually in. QoS is relatively new, maybe you didn't get a chance to see it yet somehow. Maybe you confused 'Never Say Never Again' with 'Thunderball' and never got to it. Be honest. Is there a film you haven't seen or any other Bondian thing that you haven't experienced?

No, but I have not seen Octopussy, The spy who lvoed me and Die another day for a loooooooong loooooooong time ago. I even believe I have watched The spy who loved me once only.

The only one I haven't seen properly is YOLT. The first time I opened the dvd case, I dropped the disc. It's got a tiny scratch on it, but will only play for about five minutes.

I don't know how dirty this is, but I haven't seen QOS since it came out, haven't seen DAD since it was first released on DVD, and haven't seen TND since the Clinton years. (I should probably give it another try.) For many years I deliberately avoided NSNA. I only saw it in 2009 and haven't watched it since.

I've never seen Charles K. Feldman's Casino Royale.

I've never seen that episode of Climax!

I'm more ashamed of the fact that I've only read five of the Fleming novels, and it's been several years.

Good question! I have watched them all but have become distracted/channel surfing/taking a phone call etc with
- the one with the guy who was after Sean but before Roger. Kojak and Diana Rigg were in it.
-the two middle PB ones - just got bored and couldn't be bothered.
And dont think I could ever watch QOS again either.

Just recently watched the Climax Casino Royale. Thought it was awful. Haven't read all the books yet, but getting there.

I think the first Bond film that appeared on British TV was the 1967 spoof Casino Royale. I seem to recall watching it on the BBC over the Christmas holidays in 1973 which, if I'm right, means it was on the telly over a year before ITV showed Dr No.

Nevertheless, I didn't last much more than five minutes with CR 1967. I couldn't understand it. This was a Bond film? Not in my book it wasn't! Sorry any CR 1967 fans out there, but to my mind it barely qualifies. I've watched bits of this film since but never the whole way through. It seems to be not so much a Bond film as a self indulgent mess.

Also, I've never seen the 1954 Casino Royale all the way through, even though I have the video somewhere at home. Fortunately the official Bond film makers finally secured the rights to CR and produced one of the best Bond films in decades. So I did, at last, watch a film called Casino Royale from start to finish in 2006 and have had many happy repeat showings ever since!

Obviously I've seen them all several times but most I cannot tolerate more than about an hour of at a time, or I chapter skip the bits I don't want to watch. I suspect it's been years since I watched one the whole way through at home from beginning to end in one sitting.

I've gone half way through the Casino Royale novel, but never finished it. It's just there on my bookselves waiting for a pair of feisty eyes.

I haven't watched Casino Royale '67 on Blu-ray yet but that's because the film is practically unwatchable. I still have yet to read all of the Gardner novels but, as soon as I finish re-reading the Flemings, I plan on fixing that.

I have yet to touch Goldeneye Reloaded due to an overheated PS3... but I played the Wii Goldeneye, so I guess I've pretty much already played it.

Otherwise there are 3 episodes of James Bond Jr. that I haven't been able to find in English (but I have them in German... which I don't speak).

I guess the books are the only Bondian aspect in which I'm lacking: I've yet to read the last 5 or 6 Gardner novels, all of the Bensons and the Young Bond series. I'm also only about half done with Carte Blanche, but I found the first half to be interesting so it's just a matter of sitting down and getting through it.


I'm still obsessed with Bond, don't get me wrong... but a certain British sci-fi mainstay has distracted me as of late... there are just SOOO many episodes of "the Doctor" to watch and so little time!

Actually, I don't know. I may have missed some Roger Moore films, not quite sure. I'm not so much into the films.
And even the films I've seen, I don't know by heart. To me that's part of the charm of Bond films: the fact that you can watch them once every couple of years all along your life, then somehow forget and enjoy the film all over again the next time. It's a childhood thing, you know... Children enjoy being told the same bedtime story again and again, while generally adults won't read the same novel or watch the same film again and again, novelty wins it all for us.

I'd give your comment a +1, if I could; the real tragedy of that movie is that Freddie Young never got employed on any better Bond movies... can you imagine a faithful YOLT, directed by Peter Hunt, written by Richard Maibaum, score by John Barry, and lensed by Freddie Young? Something to make the Bond fan's heart leap...

Yes. Been watching several of the films (GOLDEN GUN, FOR YOUR EYES ONLY, OCTOPUSSY) these last few weeks for the first time in a while and I've found I've had to stop the DVD pretty much at the one hour mark and watch the second half the next night.

Particularly with the 80s ones. Since there's little save the barest of threads connecting the films first and second halves, most of the second quarter feels like episodic filler completely lacking in flow, and I seem to need a break by the midpoint.

I only have that problem with Octopussy. I'll stop at the point where Bond is presumed dead after the yoyo fight, and it may take me a few days to remember to finish watching, but I always do go back. I love that second half.

Maybe this is just me, I dunno, but do you ever get the sense when watching FYEO that the dawn warehouse raid feels like the climactic set piece, and it comes as somewhat of a shock that there's still the ATAC retrieval, the keelhauling, AND the St. Cyril's (actual) climax all yet to come? Bit exhausting for me, at least.

It must have been years since I last felt a real need to watch a Bond movie. I have the SE monsterbox edition and some of the UE 2-discs (the ones I got for cheap), and some of those never saw the inside of my DVD player. I often have the movies running in the background while I'm working at something when they're on TV and there's nothing better on. Usually, I turn the sound off, except for some great parts with good music, like "Dawn Raid at Fort Knox". But on the other hand, it did happen to me that I looked up a certain scene to verify a quote or so and I ended up watching the rest of the movie. I once thought that it would be better to watch the movie from start instead of just that last half hour - it didn't work.

I've never seen the Climax! CR. I didn't see GE until about 1998 or 99.
I haven't read most of the continuation novels (the ones I've read didn't very much encourage me to continue), except for the YoungBonds, which I enjoyed very much.
I've never read TSWLM. There you have it.
