Don't read to much into Roger Friedman's "exclusive" interview - I've read name-dropping efforts like this before.

"Craig told me he starts the next James Bond movie next week, which means “a lot of working out.”" This means that Dan said this to a pack of reporters who were badgering him while he was trying to have a conversation with Lorne Michaels (Roger dropped the ball here; shouldn't we all now be speculating whether Daniel Craig may be guest-hosting Saturday Night Live sometime soon?).

"Daniel did not know whether the deal was done for Adele to sing the main theme. And I did not ask him about the troubled film, “Dream House,” which opens September 30th." This means that Roger only got to ask one question. Someone else asked him about Adele (and why should he know anyway? He's an actor, not the producer) and nobody asked him about Dream House.

When you sort through the rubbish, there was very little real news here, except that Craig has started working out while production on B23 officially starts next week.

Which is, all things considered, definitely good news.

It´ll probably be something Flemingesque and Bondian, to give it the "classic" tone. And if the cast is the one rumoured then What a press conference that´ll be!, right? Can you imagine Craig with Fiennes, Bardem, Dench, Mendes, ...

EON are notoriously tight-lipped, but people have been making wild claims (moreso on the other forums than here) about the film and the press conference as if they have some insider information. Maybe it's just poor word choice, but all the same ...

It's just folks getting excited and talking, harmless stuff but par on a fan board. There will be a film, cameras will start rolling soon, been an extra-long wait so people are pretty geeked for it to happen. Can't stop human nature (including moaning about it ).

Craig's quote is pretty significant, I think. It may not mean shooting anything at all - rather, he's just starting his training regimen to prepare for the start of shooting.

If - and I said IF - production actually starts next week it would be a common thing to give out a press release announcing the start of principal photography.

But I do consider it more likely that Craig meant he would start training next week. Cameras will possibly start to roll much later on.

Where is it written that Craig has to be there when filming starts? If the shooting schedule does not have scenes with Bond, then there's no reason for Craig to be there. Unless he's one of those actors who is very interested in the filming process and wants to learn as much as he can. But even then, he's not actually doing anything.

My guess is that it will be second unit shooting (as they shot the Siena scenes very early for the Palio before principle photography) Just speculating. I don't think they will film the main cast till January as per the usual for a fall release.
