I recently came across an amusing caricature of all five six official actors to have played Bond, by Mad cartoonist Tom Richmond. (The original link is here.)



Now, I think the likenesses are fairly good, though Richmond perhaps over-exaggerates the chins, and the attributes given to each actor are also well-chosen (I especially like Roger's Kung-Fu stance!). However, there is one detail that Richmond has got utterly wrong. A No-Prize to the first person who can guess what it is.

Missed the mark on Lazenby and Brosnan.

The "message," I think, was meant to be that Craig stands out as not measuring up to the rest.

I don't think it means Craig was roughed up per se, rather it's an exaggeration based on the style of his two films. Note the blood stains on his shirt. It might be his, it might be the blood of the guy he was fighting.

With the Roger Moore version, I wonder if the artist was working from a photo that had been reversed. In addition to the mole being on the wrong side, his hair is parted on the opposite side (compared with the way his hair was in the Bond movies).

What I am curious to understand is why Revelator referred to the caricature as "all five official actors to have played Bond", yet there have been six official actors.

That is because Revelator got very little sleep and temporarily lost the ability to count.
And yes, wing-tips were the wrong item. Such ugly things!

Is it the fact that George Lazenby isn't wearing a kilt?

Because I'm pretty sure everytime he wasn't dressed for winter weather he was wearing a kilt.


Oh, do you think I should have him personalize it "Sorry for the wing collars!" if I decide to order one?

I believe his got their heights accurate as well.

That's a great caricature. A bit unfair on Craig, but it does reflect his much more cut up Bond.
