One's that stick out in my mind as seeming worthy of anticipation:
The Tree of Life
Terrence Malick isn't exactly what you'd call prolific but what he does do has always been interesting so far, and word on this is that it's going to be "revolutionary", whatever they mean by that.

War of Gods
Tarsem's visual talent caught my eye in the otherwise fairly dire The Cell, and he won me over with The Fall, so I will be sure to check this out. Slated for a 2010 release but currently only in pre-production.

Machete
Surely worth checking out for the "never thought it would happen in a million years" pairing of Steven Seagal and Robert DeNiro. I'm a fan of Robert Rodriguez when he is working on pulpy material.

Predators
Rodriguez wrote the script, and it's about Predators

Inception
Everything looks pretty good so far.

The Expendables
I like action movies

I like Tron

Shutter Island
Doesn't look like top-tier Scorsese, but it looks like good nasty fun in the mode of his Cape Fear, and given his recent attempts at "top-tier Scorsese" films, I think that's no bad thing.

Not quite anticipating, but curious:

Robin Hood
I have to say Ridley Scott directing a Russell Crowe Robin Hood movie "as it might really have been" sounded to me like just about the most tedious thing in the world, but I actually liked the trailer.

Daybreakers
Like half the world I'm sick of Vampires but this actually looks pretty cool from the trailer.

Also; Toy Story 3, Last Airbender, Youth in Revolt

I'm quite excited for for TREE OF LIFE.

Tarsem's claim that the film would be "Caravaggio meets FIGHT CLUB" sold me on the whole project. It's extremely doubtful that we'll see it in the next year, though, but hopefully the ball will get rolling following the inevitable success of CLASH OF THE TITANS.

There are a few I'm up in the air about, namely Kick , Alice in Wonderland, Iron Man 2, The Expendables, and The Green Hornet. Truth be told, from what I know/have seen of those films so far, I don't think I'll be running to the movie theater to see them.

I forgot about The Lonely Bones (maybe because it's already had a limited release), I'd like to see that even though reviews have been mixed and Jackson isn't exactly my favourite director (though he has a couple of gems in his catalogue).

The Nightmare on Elm Street remake does have a good trailer, and I guess I'll end up seeing it, but I'm biased against Platinum Dunes remakes, and script reviews suggest it's going to be the same kind of crap they've cranked out before. But we'll see.

LAST AIRBENDER? Really?

The sheer oddity of the thing intrigues me. A burnt-out, once (until pretty recently, really) critcally acclaimed director making a movie of a not exactly ancient Nickelodeon cartoon (which I have never seen more than a few seconds of) about a little kid in orange robes who practices kung-fu to ward off dragons and what-not? It stands out if nothing else.

I would say that at the top of my list, Inception. I'm not that excited right now about any other title. I'm sure that'll change once the year progresses.

My initial list, although I feel I'm missing a few already:

UP IN THE AIR: Already released in the United States admittedly but awaiting it here in the UK. I’ve always enjoyed Clooney’s work and found JUNO very much to my liking from Jason Reitman. Seeing as though it appears to be leading the Oscar chatter for this year, I’m especially looking forward to it.

SHUTTER ISLAND: Not a big horror fan, but Scorsese and DiCaprio back together should provide a good enough reason to check this out..

THE LOVELY BONES: Originally, this was thought to be the big awards season fare, before it got delayed. Peter Jackson’s return should be compelling, plus it’s another chance to see the up-and-coming Saoirse Ronan.

GREEN ZONE: The fourth Bourne by a different name? Probably. Should still be interesting to see a war-time Baghdad slant on the action movie genre though.

ALICE IN WONDERLAND: I may be in the minority but I’m quite liking Tim Burton’s vision for this from the trailers. I’m only a recent convert to his work but I have an open mind for this.

CEMETERY JUNCTION: Hopefully a return to form for Ricky Gervais after the dud of THE INVENTION OF LYING. Hopefully the return of Stephen Merchant to the writing team will lift this out of the doldrums.

THE BIG I AM: Ostensibly just another London gangster flick but friends are involved so I’m looking to see whether it sinks or swims.

ROBIN HOOD: I’m fully prepared not to enjoy this. It’s not really my sort of thing but it’s been such a laboured process to get this to the screen that there is added intrigue in the project.

TOY STORY 3: Very little to say about it that hasn’t been said. The previous two Toy Story movies have nailed it. Pixar rarely (if ever) miss. Should be a lock of a success.

SALT: Jolie. Spies. Probably enough to keep me amused and keep me out of trouble for a couple of hours.

INCEPTION: Christopher Nolan has yet to miss the target for me yet. Psychological thrillers tend to be my cup of tea, so I’m expecting more of the same here.

NEW YORK, I LOVE YOU: Purely borne out of missing New York personally.

THE WAY BACK: Peter Weir returns at long last for his take on a Siberian gulag escape during the Second World War. A decent cast should make this strong fare.

THE ADJUSTMENT BUREAU: More Matt Damon. This time as a congressman who takes an interest in a ballet dancer (Emily Blunt). I don’t know much of the story but there are said to be sci-fi elements at work.

THE SOCIAL NETWORK: A movie about Facebook would not be grabbing me initially but when it’s directed by David Fincher my opinion changes. Very interested by the ideas behind this one and what tone it will take.

THE BEAVER: "A clinically depressed man finds solace through a beaver handpuppet". Starring Mel Gibson, directed by Jodie Foster. Crazy.

Hmm, I don't think I saw all of it exactly, but I seem to remember some "wacky" antics which weren't too far removed from Ferrell's usual oeuvre. He hasn't gone full-on "take me seriously, damn you!" a la Jim Carrey in The Number 23 or Adam Sandler in Reign over me just yet, but I think it's inevitable.

I believe he also played a guitarist in one of Zooey "am I not, like, awesomely kooky?" Deschanel's interchangable indie quirkfest dramas, but I think he was playing an Eagles song or something which I guess was supposed to be somehow funny.

Sherlock Holmes

Just got round to seeing this today, and I wasn't too impressed with the previews before hand. It looked cheesy as hell. But, WOW! Such a great movie, a fun watch. It had it's moments, but most of it was amazing. Though I did burst out laughing at the music track accompanying the slow motion explosion.

I really enjoyed it though, I didn't think it would be that great, I was proved wrong.

Very good start to a year of cinema, if I do say so myself. Of course not every film is going to be fantastic, but I hope the trend doesn't reverse itself as time goes on. Hopefully things just kind of balance out, like 09.
