M's office door?

In addition, doesn't M's door as seen in The Man With The Golden Gun end up being used at the Zorins stableyard in A View To A Kill by Zorin? (scene where they are listening to Bond and Tibbett's conversation).
Thought this would be somewhat of an obscure and original thread huh?
: )
As a side note, it would be pretty cool to find a door similar to the ones used in the early films...

I'm rewatching the Films now (one per week, on TSWLM now) and I also pay close attention to M's doors. TMWTGG had a nice set of leather double doors, and there was a nice transition fron the stud on the door to Saida's bellybutton.

Thanks! I'll try and do a bit of homework as well. It would also be nice to have some screencaps just for differences in the doors and also when they show up in other places or other films.
The Whyte House elevator in Diamonds Are Forever is reused in The Man With The Golden Gun on Scaramanga's Island too..

It's just another of those touches that makes Bond's world so different that an office door can get that kind of attention.

Here is a comparison of the doors to M's office in the Roger Moore's movies:-
Thank you!!!
So the door used in The Man With The Golden Gun was the door later reused in A View to A Kill at Zorin's horse stables.
Interesting. I may have to do some more research on the other films to compare tonight!
I wonder if it would be quite easy to make a door that looks just like it. It would be very cool to use one for an office door.

I've seen red double-doors with buttons like that used in many movies, so it wasn't a deliberate re-use of the TMWTGG door.

I always liked the TSWLM+ door best. Actually being the massive nerd I am I plan to see about having a door like that installed my own home someday. Someday...

I was just going to bring up that door. I was there too, at one point.I always liked the office scenes when I was a kid just so I could see those doors because they were unlike anything I'd ever seen and I have still never seen a leather door to this day (except when I went to the Bond exhibition in Detroit a few years ago and saw that actual door from the films).

I have Dr. No on right now. It appears an reddish leather door similar to the one seen in The Man With the Golden Gun was used. There are 2 of the same style doors that Bond goes through into M's office.
Jump up, jump up..
Found the story too..

There's a little buzzer, so yes, I think so...probably a stupid question I have always wondered is the door sound proof

No wonder they badmouth each other when the Door is closed

M seems to permanently have the intercom with Moneypenny switched on, however, so he/she can hear the "customary byplay" between Bond & her.

M might just have his finger on the button from the moment he tells Moneypenny to send for Bond.

Well, she's able to keep tabs on the recording of Bond and Tania when it's being played in FRWL, so I'm sure the breaker goes either way...M might just have his finger on the button from the moment he tells Moneypenny to send for Bond.M seems to permanently have the intercom with Moneypenny switched on, however, so he/she can hear the "customary byplay" between Bond & her.No wonder they badmouth each other when the Door is closedThere's a little buzzer, so yes, I think so...probably a stupid question I have always wondered is the door sound proof

If I knew how to do it, I would add to the screen caps that were previously posted. .

I've just realised that these screencaps also show Roger's ageing from movie to movie.

I just spent five minutes clicking back and forth between the screenshots of the doors from Sir Roger's era.

Aren't we all?
This is a great thread and one that hasn't been discussed enough about the films, IMO.
: )
We should get screencaps of the rest of them up.

Great thread indeed. In fact I ve always wanted to nag about the way Tamahori uses the door at M's office during Miranda's briefing. Notice how, when she enters the office, not only does she leave the door open, but it remains open within the frame during the scene, emphasising that awful dierectorial mistake. I could never forgive Tamahori for leaving that door open, showing how ignorant both he and the other Brosnan directors (except Campbell, who I think is one of the best action directors alive) were of the Bond universe.
That's a riot. I've never noticed this!! Just confirmed it though. Wow..
It's too bad that they updated M's office in the Brosnan films they used a very plain looking wood door.
Maybe they will fix this in Bond 23?
