Specifically, Wall-E won best animated film and something else.
Penelope Cruz was best supporting actress.
Also, Heath Ledger won his well deserved best supporting actor award.
And Slumdog Millionaire is doing better than Ben Button.

Hugh Jackman (number 1 choice of CBn-ers to replace Pierce Brosnan back in 2004) seems quite the all around talent.

Talked so fast he tripped over a few words. Still, he was dressed eloquently as per usual. Didn't smile much, though.
Not surprised. He was probably in a hurry to get out. Craig and his girlfriend had left the Oscar show for the Vanity Fair party, right after his appearance. Didn't bother to stay to the end of the ceremony. Smart man.

Actually this was his most smiling appearance ever when presenting

Yes.
He, rightly, didn't want to be associated with the stench that is the Academy.

As per my initial post, I too decided to turn off the tv after having seen him. The Oscars are a ing joke. Note how The Departed won in a year where Casino Royale was infinitely superior on every account, on all lists.
Uh . . . yeah. Whatever.

PS. Maybe Sarah Jessica is as tall as Nic Kidman, and Craig went to Shrublands to Pat Fearing's machine so he can get some inches taller

A Bond film has never been nominated for a best picture Oscar and probably never will. That type of film is generally never nominated. As per my initial post, I too decided to turn off the tv after having seen him. The Oscars are a ing joke. Casino Royale was fantastic, but even though we are Bond fans, not Oscar worthy. It is an action movie.
Well what is particularly Oscar worthy about The Fugitive, Raiders of the Lost Ark, The Towering Inferno, Star Wars, or The Sixth Sense, all of which were up for Best Picture? In 2006 Casino Royale was one of the most critically acclaimed movies of the year and was a popular international blockbuster, but they passed it over for the likes of Little Miss Sunshine and the glorified BBC tv movie The Queen!!! Does anyone remember either of those two even a couple of years later? Bah. Same with The Dark Knight. Who is going to remember The Reader in two years? Hell, who remembers it right now, other than Kate Winslet?

He was nervous! Not that there's anything wrong with that, but I've always thought it very obvious that Craig is extremely uncomfortable in these situations. He's also pretty damn nervous and shy in interviews on chat shows, especially on Jonathan Ross etc. He does a half decent job of covering it up, like the actor he is... but you can still tell (hence his awkward "performance" presenting at the Oscars).Talked so fast he tripped over a few words. Still, he was dressed eloquently as per usual. Didn't smile much, though.

No it wasn't. Both great films. "infinitely superior" indeed, lolNote how The Departed won in a year where Casino Royale was infinitely superior on every account, on all lists.

I agree, a Bond film will probably never get nominated. If any Bond movie deserved to get nominated for best pic, it was Casino Royale. The British are not so stuck up about it as CR did get nominated for Best Picture at the BAFTAs.

Was only disappointed about Mickey

Very happy 4 Slumdog and the near absence of TDK.
Its a rear thing 4 me to agree with these people who vote there. But this time Im quite happy/ And The reader btw is a great film! Thank God not every award is given to crowd pleasers.
Dan is another thing. Loved his couple with Parker! Thay're so unconventionally looking people. So nice to see them together!

Dan was really quite nervous as usual. Almost stepped on Sarah's dress!

And Dan was like "No, please, master! I better go and do my job about this Red Rackham pirate. It's a very demanding role U know!"
Steven "No! Go and present, I say!"

Anyway he looked his real self who I love.

Hugh Jackman did a good job as host.
The Academy's selections? A mixed bag as usual. Penelope Cruz?
