Hey, I was wondering if someone could help me out. I have been trying to figure this out for seven years. When Xenia goes on to the ship that has the tiger, who is she with. I mean the guy cant be that Admiral becuase she killed him the night before who ever it is has to look like him as they use his id to get in. Who is it? It cant be Oromuv???

Maybe she snuck on, but If not, then General Oroumov is the likely canidate.

Or it could be just some lowly, anonymous, never-heard-from-again henchman employed by the Janus organisation.

I presume it was some short henchman who had some plastic surgery done.

I too have often wondered who took Chuck Farrell's place at the Tiger demo. I think there is a good chance that Ourumov was the other helicopter pilot, as it provides good continuity for the two of them to later arrive together at Severnaya. However, if Bond had not gone on to the Yacht Manticore to investigate Xenia, and had instead attended the Tiger Demo (assuming he would no doubt be there), he would have clearly recognised Ourumov. This would lead me to believe they would probably have used a look-o-likey for the grinning ginger Chcuk Farrell who died happy.

Obviously this is pure speculation. IMO this question in no way detracts from what is a superb film.

I'm with Icephoenix on this one, I think it's a look alike who's had some plastic surgery. It can't be Ourmov as the ID is held up and it clearly shows Admiral Farrel's picture on it. I've always thought of it as a nod to Thunderball without actually going in to detail.

Is the look a like also the second pilot? I assume it is else bond would have exposed them had they still been on board the battleship.

I've always figured it to be Oroumov, but later on I noticed that Farrel's picture is indeed on the ID, as Blue Eyes pointed out. So I've come up with the theory that someone had plastic surgery, escorted Xenia to the ship, then Oroumov met up with Xenia on the ship, and flew off. I assume it was the same guy who walked in in the middle of Miss Onatopp's and Chuck's boat rocking.

I also have thought it to be Ouromov, but I agree that the man posing as the Admiral is quite short. It seemed as through the bloke that got on the helicopter was different from the one that was posing as the Admiral. It is very likely that Oroumov was picked up at a different location because I don't think that it could make it from Southwestern Europe (Monaco) to Central Russia (Severnaya) in one hop. I'm sure that it stopped somewhere (probably in Russia) where it got fuel and picked up General Oroumov.

I, like the rest of you, don't think that this takes anything away from the film.

well wait, if it is a look alike then what happens to him? After Xenia kills the pilots, Xenia and the assumed Oromuv put on helmets and head toward the chopper. Now, the other guy does not look like the Admirals shape at all. So what happens to him? But I think its just a henchman and they meet up with Oromuv later. We just have a hard time accepting some of that stuff becuase we did not see it. Like Carver having Bonds cell # in TND. We think if we did not see it then it did not happen.

I have always, and still do, think it is Orumov. He could have maybe put on a *fake* beard and stuff, and made himself lok like Farrel, becuase we never saw his face, and if it was a plastic guy, then we would have.

If you have the basic features; red beard, for example, and you have the uniform and you flash the ID, no one is expecting anyone other than the admiral. People use fake IDs that way all the time -- at least in movies. :) So I think plastic surgery isn't necessary to explain it.

Yea, but to get on a Military ship? Besides Yanus did have the resources to get surgery done, why stuff up their chances by just getting a close 'look-alike'.
