Die Another Day

Anyway apart from Die Another being over the top and generally poor it also supposedly has hints/links to all the previous 19 films so when I was watching it last I decided to look for these rather than watch the film.
Hopefully someone/anyone can fill in the blanks because this is the sort of stuff that will bug me
Dr. No
The obvious one is Jinx coming out of the water in a bikini with a belt with a knife on.
From Russia With Love
Rosa Klebbs shoe with spike as well as Bonds briefcase are seen in tube station when hes with Q. Also when he meets Jinx apart from the names its exactly the same dialogue as when he meets Tanya
Goldfinger
Q's line 'I never joke about my work' the car having an ejector seat and Jinx being tied down to be killed by a laser
Thunderball
The Jet pack & breather
You Only Live Twice
Jinx breaks into Graves hideout and comes down through the roof like the Japanese do in the Volcano
On Her Majesty's Secret Service
Villian tires to kill Bond by starting an avalanche - tedious but best I could find
Diamonds Are Forever
Diamonds, lasers made of Diamonds, surgery to look like someone else
The Spy Who Loved Me
The Union Jack Parachute used by Graves
Moonraker
Fight scene (fencing) that involves loads of glass cases and their contents getting smashed - another tedious one!
Octopussy
The Plane with fold up wings and the Alligator submarine gadgets in Q's den
A View To A Kill
The spy robot thing again with the other gadgets
The Living Daylights
Fight scene on a plane, leaving a doomed plane out the back on another vehicle
Licence To Kill
00 Status revoked
GoldenEye
Zao death from the falling Ice chandelier is very much like the death of Trevelyan
So, that just leaves links in Die Another Day to the following films. Live And Let Die, The Man With The Golden Gun, For Your Eyes Only, Tomorrow Never Dies & The World Is Not Enough.

For The World is not Enough, Bond shot the leading lady through the head. He should have done that when he first met Jinx.

You forgot to mention the Stradivarius cello from TLD that was in Qs office.
Well that's stupid if true.
As if Kara would randomly go and donate her Cello to Q-Branch.

Yes it's true all right. You forgot to mention the Stradivarius cello from TLD that was in Qs office.

There's a Cello in the backround in the scene along with the other props from bonds past.

THE WORLD IS NOT ENOUGH
- Jinx trying to spark the control panel wires in Miranda's room to try to get the doors open - the very same way that Christmas Jones sparked the wires by connecting them to the generator to open the blast doors in the silo. The only difference is Christmas actually succeeded while Jinx Gangsta Bitch didn't.
- Miranda turning out to be a villainess quite abruptly.

Well, he had one stuck in his shin, so maybe he fancied them as a souvenir when he got out of the hospital

(yeah, in the novel, not the movie, I know...)

Just when I thought I'd seen DAD for the last time...here you come with this delightful thread. I really must see it again, on the watch for the kitchen sink, in the form of Rosa's shoes, thrown into the over-done tribute.

Better question: Why the hell does Bond smell them?Stupid film. Why the hell are Klebbs shoes there aswell? Did Bond steal them?
Anyway, I always thought the Vanquish flipping over the missile was a nod to the gas tanker similarly dodging a missile in the LTK finale.

Well, OHMSS features a scene where Bond looks at some old gadgets from previous films, just like DAD does.

Perhaps Pierce Brosnan always drinks in the same manner...I belive it refrences to Tomorrow Never Dies in the ice bulding, (Where jinx is something Swift) the background, and the way Bond sips his drink is like TND nightclub at the news premiere.

Pierce Brosnan also plays a character called James Bond in DAD. This is quite clearly a reference to Goldeneye, where he also played a character called James Bond. I'm surprised no-one else has picked up on this!

I meant the shots looked similar or whatever.Perhaps Pierce Brosnan always drinks in the same manner...I belive it refrences to Tomorrow Never Dies in the ice bulding, (Where jinx is something Swift) the background, and the way Bond sips his drink is like TND nightclub at the news premiere.
IN the ice building party and the TND news premiere they looked similar.
LOL your funnyEva Green can clearly be seen as a fencer in the Blades scenes. And it was Jeffrey Wright who emerged from the surf in DIE ANOTHER DAY, not HALLE BERRY. Her face was digitally added afterwards when she got the Oscar and her currency rose.

THere is certain reference to TWINE in the titles: A flame girl.
That has more to do with the motiff of torture than referencing a Bond film.

Some of those have put my mind at rest and others have made me chuckle. Good spot with the character James Bond being re-used. I totally missed that!
Nothing from Live and Let Die though?

Bond smokes a cigar. I think this is the only direct reference, though you could add that both films feature Bond sleeping with a black American agent/sleeping with a traitor, and a villain who changes his appearance and creates a new identity, fooling Bond.
Also to add another one for OHMSS, we see Bond in his office again in DAD...albeit in virtual reality

The obvious one is Jinx coming out of the water in a bikini with a belt with a knife on.

Stupid film
Don't pretend you didn't love it, before you came here, MHarkin....

It was our fault on here that you changed your mind about it!
