Given that most people have not had a chance to see the film, I would need to wait on that one. I would vote for Jack's version however.6. The Joker, The Dark Knight - Heath Ledger

One of the all-time great villains.

Amazing that Heath Ledger is so good people don't have to see him to know it. Also amazing that 2008 gave us two of the best villains ever, apparently.
Oh, and these lines are priceless: "He is the most powerful dark wizard to ever wave a wand." Wow, impressive. Now what about the people who are most powerful in other fictional universes?
"What's more, he schemes to dominate the whole world."

Myself, I would include HAL 9000 from 2001: A Space Odyssey, Jaws, the Xenomorph from the first Alien movie, Predator, and Terminator (maybe even T-1000 as well).

Of course we don't need to know it...its been beaten over our heads for the last six months that Ledger is not only the best villain ever, but the best performance ever in the history of anything. In fact, nobody is ever going to try to act again, in anything, ever, because they can't top Heath Ledger. Or something.

Even as a Bond fan, I have to say Goldfinger is nothing more than an iconic Bond villain. That doesn't make him one of the best overall movie villains. Within the Bond universe, I'd think Blofeld would make more sense anyway, although I'm sure the schizophrenia of his depictions is what hurts him.I agree with the James Earl Jones Darth Vader, Hannibal Lecter, Goldfinger and Hans Gruber selections.

My favourite Bond villain is Blofeld from FRWL. Just a voice, hands stroking a cat, a quick shot showing he has hair, and the fear in the eyes of Klebb and Kronsteen.

Goldfinger sucks
You've really dissected the character there.

That list is absurd. Obviously put together by thriteen year olds.
Greatest villain of all - someone you sure wouldn't want to meet - are the two hillbillies from DELIVERANCE. Not a speck of humanity in those two.

I wouldn't even place his version on the list. I found it too over-the-top for my tastes.

Really, the creepiest villian in the Bond series is Rosa Klebb.

I think that Goldfinger is a much better villian than Darth Vader of Episode III.

Kain from Robocop 2 was darn effective and creepy

For fun I would have put Alan Rickmans turn as the Sherriff of Nottigham and Sydney Greenstreet did a mean set of villains.
But no, it has to be 2008 doesnt it?

Hollywood gets all its villain names from 1980's British sitcoms!!
