Ever since I saw Casino Royale for the first time, I've been absolutely kicking myself for my initial outrage that Daniel Craig was chosen as Bond. I was so very very wrong and for that I've always wanted to make a public apology.

Oh I grumbled at first. I scoffed. Then one day I saw a picture of Craig in his tuxedo sitting at the gaming table and went "Hmmmmmmm. . . Looks the part." But I was still unsure. I clung to the familiar. Then the trailers started coming and I began to swing in Daniel Craig's favour. Definitely seeing him come out of the water changed my mind in a big way. By the time of the film's release date I was sold, and I'd dragged my boyfriend to the soonest showing. I walked from Casino Royale later that night, not only madly in love with Mr Craig as a performer, as a Bond, but my love for 007 which had been on life support since the Brosnan era, suddenly made a full and hearty recovery. Craig makes Bond a magnificent animal, in a very good way. He's strong, commanding, instinctual, self assured, but not above making a mistake. He's become my favourite Bond.

So once again, to Daniel Craig, I apologise for my misgivings. You are not my father's Bond, you are MY Bond.
