I couldn't see this posted anywhere else, but Sky News reporting on their breaking news service that Lois Maxwell has died aged 80. Thoughts with her family.

My boss took this rather nice photo of Lois in the early 90's for one of the Sunday supplements http://www.mercerdes...moneypenny.html

He said she was a delightful person. She will be sadly missed.

Man, what a blow. An inestimable part of the Bond world has just left us. Lois was able to have great chemistry with three very different Bonds, and she was so great in the role that one looked forward to her scenes opposite James. She made us forget her Canadian accent!!

She was also a person who spoke a lot about Bond, and increased the knowledge of Bond fans all over the world.

My thoughts to her family and friends. Her good friend Roger Moore will be shocked and upset no doubt.

Rest in peace Lois, and many thanks for the pleasure you gave many Bond fans like myself. For me, you will ALWAYS be Moneypenny, even when I watch the films you didn't appear in, or read any of the books (especially 'The Moneypenny Diaries' series).

This is a loss the magnitude of I haven't felt since the passing of dear old Desmond Llewelyn.

Aswell as her family, I think our condolences should also go to Sir. Roger Moore, I think, this has had a massive effect on him. If anyone watched BBC News about 10 mins ago they would have seen how distraught he was. He was actually finding it difficult to get his words out. Poor Guy

This is absolutely tragic news. We have lost a huge piece of the 007 legacy today. Condolences to the family and friends of Lois Maxwell.

Sad news indeed. We've lost a great screen personality, and what I've seen her in interviews, she also was a great and cheerful person off screen.
