I would keep TLD, and perhaps add to it OHMSS, CR, GE and maybe one Bond movie that is particularly bad but would greatly benefit from Dalton's acting to give it some added weight. Maybe DAD or one of the other Brosnan ones perhaps. Alternatively, I might add FYEO in there or keep LTK as one of his.
How about you?

2. THE LIVING DAYLIGHTS (1987)
3. LICENCE REVOKED (1989) - Go with the original title and give it a darker ending.
4. COLONEL SUN (1992) - A 1992 follow-up and "sequel" to LR.
5. GOLDENEYE - What would have/could have been a great swan song for Dalton. What a shame.

OH NO, MR BOND!
NOT SO FAST, MR BOND!
WE MEET AGAIN, MR BOND!
WELCOME, MR BOND, I'VE BEEN EXPECTING YOU
and
BOND, JAMES BOND
Seriously, though, I'd only like to have seen him add GOLDENEYE to his filmography. I don't think he'd have fitted any of the other films any better than their real life stars did.

Add back LTK and I'm with youI'm pretty sure he only would have done the four (although my choice for a fifth would be From Russia with Love).
So:-
For Your Eyes Only
Octopussy
A View to a Kill
The Living Daylights
Then Brozza from 1989 onwards.

CR-He just seems right for it. Maybe not so much as the rookie agent, but as the cold, quiet Bond Fleming created.
OHMSS-He could have pulled it off as the wearied Bond of the book. One of the best descriptions I ever read of Dalton's Bond was as a burned-out agent with just enough left for one more mission.
GE-The problem with Brosnan's Bond in this film was it was his debut. We were supposed to associate him with having a past with Trevelyan, but that's hard to do with a first film. Dalton doing this for his third film would have been perfect.
LALD-Minus the Sheriff Pepper and goofieness, he would have made formidable competition against Mr. Big.
FYEO-Something about this film just seems right for Dalton, save for the Bibi thing. The relationship with Melina is a lot like what his relationship with Kara was.

Yeah, he was a perfect fit for it. And he probably would've had a more successful run as Bond if he'd started back then, instead of six years later.FYEO-Something about this film just seems right for Dalton, save for the Bibi thing. The relationship with Melina is a lot like what his relationship with Kara was.

Goldeneye still looks, to me, like a continuation of Living Daylights. But I must say I liked Brosnan as Bond in that.

OHMSS I loved the overall style of this film (minus the cornball jokes) and it's a shame that they didn't get a real thesp to really work it. Although GL certainly could have been worse.
FYEO I liked RM's acting in this best but this is truly Dalton territory (the juvenile skater plot notwithstanding).
TLD It combined humor w/o the silliness and toughness. I just wish there had been a more radical change in writing, DP, styling, etc . . during the TD era. As others mentioned weak villains in this one.
LTK This could have been so much more, see TLD comments, but I appreciate his performance and the darker theme and tone.
CR Because it would have been great seeing him be able to pull out the stops with full support from the right production team pulling together in symphony, torward the right aim. Very consistent vision; very consistent film. Loved it!

I'd start my Dalton series with On Her Majesty's Secret Service. I've already expressed the opinion in another thread that, to reconcile the Blofeld inconsistencies, YOLT was followed by DAF, which seems to start in Japan. Then, both Bond and Blofeld (the real one, as it was another double killed at the end of DAF) have plastic surgery, to prevent the other from recognizing them.
Well, after the plastic surgery, Connery looks like Dalton, and the stage is set for OHMSS. That would be Dalton's first film.
Then, For Your Eyes Only. Except the Blofeld teaser would be changed to be more serious and give Bond a more satisfying revenge. No stainless steel delicatessens here. And I think the rest of the film would have played to Dalton's strengths, especially kicking the car over the edge of the cliff. I'm sure Tim would have had no problem doing that.
Then, The Living Daylights and Licence to Kill, followed by GoldenEye.
And then, as a bonus, Never Say Never Again, in which Tim years later has to be brought out of retirement to deal with an international crisis -- but obviously the script would have to be much more polished, and someone other than SPECTRE would need to be the villains.

From the past collection of Bond movies, pick 5 of them which you think Dalton could have been good if he had starred in it. You can still choose TLD or LTK if you think those were really suited to him, or you can substitute one of them for another one and then pick a 3rd.

Two movies I wish he was not in:
The Living Daylights
Licence To Kill
