Ok, this is CBn sharing time. I just wanted to know what you members work at, or like to talk about it, and why you like your job or not. You don't need to say anything personal, I just wanted to know what you people do to earn yourselves some money.

I'm 17, and I work part-time at AMC theatres. Just worked a 8 hour shift yesterday doing concession. I work this evening as a matter of fact, doing concession...again. :) I like working at the movies...sometimes. Ticket-taking is fun, ushering is cool too. But the restrooms...suck. I hate being the [censored] patrol. And concession, it's ok. It passes time quickly, since your always busy giving food to the customers...some are ignorant, some are not. Who wants to buy two sodas and a popcorn that cost $13.50 at the movies? :)

Anyway, I'm interested what you guys do... :)

I just switched jobs! I worked in HR for Eckerd Corp at their headquarters for over 9 years. But... JCPenney decided to sell Eckerd and split up the company, so off to find another job I went. I work in HR still, but for an insurance company now. Woo hoo!

I work at Radnor High School as a full-time student. Other than that I am pretty much a lazy bum. In winters I work at my driveway and sidewalks, shoveling snow.

I work at a pharmacy, as a pharmacy technician. Since working there, the four coolest people have either quit or been fired. Sometimes it's very busy...other times very slow. I basically either work up front, back in the pharmacy, or I'm on the floor, whatever the pharmacist wants.

At home, I'm a lifeguard at my local YMCA, and at a summer camp nearby.

At school, I work the weight room...even though I'm not exactly a typical "weight room" kinda guy.

Travis,

Get this...within the last six months, one new super Eckerd's and one new super CVS, both built right across the street from each other. Now what?

While giving up on teaching and journalism, I've spent the last 20 years running theaters for National Amusements and United Artists. I currently the Managing Director of a nice multiplex in Michigan. Sorry to hear you're working for AMC, Spectre, they can be a pretty cheap bunch. One thing I've found after 15 theaters though, is that theater work, no matter who owns the building, can always be fun and full of diverse challenges. The free movies are great, but I haven't been able to eat popcorn for years, and I used to love the stuff :) .

Well, no job yet, but that'll change by August once I move and start college. I'm not sure where I'll work then, but I'd prefer not to have to clean bathrooms (that must really suck, SPECTRE).

After college/law school I plan on getting a job as a corporate attorney, but that's still a long way off.

And yes, school does suck. Only 4 more days left of high school for me. I don't care how much more work I have in college, it'll be nice being able to have advil for when I get a damn migraine without having to worry about being caught and suspended under some stupid zero tolerance policy.

My paying job is as an adjunct lecturer for the Academic Support department at Queens College, City Univeristy of New York.

At any given point in a semester I may be grading the writing part of the entrance exam, teaching classes that prep you for that test, teaching classes that prepare students to take the CPE exam, which is the exam you take at midpoint in your CUNY career, and or writing cirriculum for the CPE or ACT classes.

I also he;p supervise the tutors at the Writing Center at QC (which is where my desk is), and handle other administrative matters for that office.

I haven't been paid for it yet, but I have written a couple of Bond related articles, one that was published in a Autograph collector's magazine and the other will be published in a Doll collector's magazine.

Yeah, pretty much the same for me. Except in the summer I get to mow the lawn.

It's nice not having to work.

I don't mind it...

Really I don't...

Yeah I need a job. :) :)

Currently I am earning minimum wage in the circle of Hell known as the grocery industry. i'm a courtesy clerk at a Pavilions and truthfdully, I'd rather be put into a wood chipper than spend one more agonizing period of time listening to whiny, overpriveleged customers who can afford an SUV but not a progrm to help them find out that coming in at five to midnight, our closing time, is a really bad idea.

Ahem...Whew, needed that. :)

I kinda guess it's obvious where I work from my UserName.

The job's not so bad apart from certain elements, which I've already mentioned in the *Things that annoy or depress us* thread.
