EON will PAY for their mistake! The PUBLIC will REFUSE to see any movie with Daniel Craig and the producers will come crawling back to Pierce! We've got seven signatures on a petition saying so! Has anybody seen my medication?

It was a no brainer.
I just finished my 7th and final big screen viewing of the movie at around 6pm est time.
Congratulations to Eon Productions.

Deanna Blofeld must be beside herself, how much would ya'll be willing to bet that Deanna Brayton has a white-cat nammed after Pierce Brosnan?

The next test is for a repeat of this for 22, to see if it was not just curiosity.

The people have spoken and it's great to see that Daniel Craig's stellar effort has been acknowledged.
How does this stack up after all the other films have been adjusted for inflation?

Well, domestically (US), CR is far behind. It'd be in the middle of the pack. As of 2002 (BOM hasn't adjusted Bond movies since), TB made $438 million in the US after adjustments. That's incredible. How does this stack up after all the other films have been adjusted for inflation?
Regardless, fantastic news. There's no doubt it will exceed $500 million if international numbers stay as high as they have been.

I wonder what Deanna Brayton is going to say now.

I don't know if it will surpass $500 million, but it will be damn close.
The boycott was a bust, and when the CR DVD goes on sale in March, it too will do excellent!

I thought that Thunderball was the highest grossing Bond film ever, once you factor in inflation. It's total take was a billion dollars world wide? Anyway I'm sure the film will top off at least 500 million. I hope it finishes at 600M

Yes Thunderball is the highest earner when you factor in inflation and see what its earnings would be in today's money, but the marketplace was completely different then, too...no video, DVD, pay-per-view or downloading from the internet, and the movie would play in theatres for about six months, whereas CR is being shuffled out of theatres after five weeks. IMHO its a bit of a false comparison using inflation, as the playing field isn't level, if you see what I mean; all the 60s and 70s Bond films have a significant advantage because the only way to see the films was on the big screen, these days a lot of people just wait another four months for the DVD.
Still, CR is gonna make half a billion bucks. Any way you look at it, its a big success.

Inflation-adjusted, it is the most successful Bond film.
Edit: Ah, I see dinovelvet has basically said the same thing above.

As has been said before, Never in the field of cinematic endevour have so many owed so much to so few, including Daniel Craig. Also regarding the "playing field" my fond memories of going to see the first 5 Sean C bond films when they came out every summer or so it seemed, usually in a double bill.
What if CR were released next summer with OHMSS? Or FRWL? Wouldn't that be groovy.

So, I guess you believe the figure that best reflects your viewpoint on the movie.

However boxofficemojo is contradicting 'Variety' giving the worldwide box office for Casino Royale at the considerably less $423,393,658.

The international figures listed for CR on BO MOJO.com are from December 17 ( a little over a week ago). The Variety numbers are the total as of Christmas Eve. I believe that an earlier Variety article published last Wed. or Thursday had CR's international total at $288,000,000.

If I recall, I said on these forums that Casino Royale would surpass $500 Mil worldwideand that the US's portion (percentage) would be the least it's ever been because of the massive currency movemnts in the global foreign exchange markets over the past 4 years.
Oh, is that the reason why I didn't watch Casino Royale for a 6th, 7th, and 8th time? LOL.

While we're on the subject of inflation adjusted grosses, I wonder how this movie is doing in comparison with Brosnan's? Sorry, I know your ears will bleed for someone to even mention Brosnan in a non-derogatory way on this site, but I thought I'd do it just for kicks
It's up there with plenty of time to go. It'll probably match GoldenEye and TWINE in the U.S. - worldwide it could possibly beat them all (Brosnan that is).

BOM hasn't been updated in like a week. Their foreign grosses tend to be released on Monday, but with Christmas it didn't happen. Hopefully this Tuesday and maybe counting Christmas day which should show it even higher (approximately 5 million or so according to Variety) than Variety's figure.

Now I bet it must be just Deanna on her own little island, with no friends, only a sea full of enemies.....
