Just saw the movie, anyone have any idea where I can get a novelty item like this?

Checked through eBay and yahoo, nothing coming up.

Thanks

So the inhaler is for asthma, not a Benzedrine inhaler? Interesting.

I thought it was for benzedrine too, but he hits it waaay too often, I think. Le Chiffre in the novels only used it during the poker game, if I remember correctly.

What is benzedrine ? a performance drug or something ?

It's an amphetamine, an early form of what is now commonly known as "Speed". Bond uses it quite often himself in the books

Learn more about it here: http://en.wikipedia....wiki/Benzedrine.

Not sure if the inhaler is actually meant to be Benzedrine in the movie, I doubt that anyone still uses this stuff nowadays (in this form, that is). The inhaler is a nice nod to the book, but it's never explained what it is good for. Given that asthma inhalers are well known these days, I suspect that it's meant to be just this - a luxury asthma inhaler. Interesting that they managed to give the thing an actual reason to be there as something to place a bug in.

Well it's never really explained why Le Chiffre uses it but as he bleeds from his eye when he feels tense, wouldn't it make sense for him to carry something for his nerves?

Yeah I also assume that it is benzedrine, because we never see Le Chiffre short of breath which may hint at asthma. I imagine that it is one of those small details made by the producers for the benefit of fans who have read the book.

If I were the producers, I wouldn't explain benzedrine either :)

Good eye, I assumed it was for asthma as well.. clearly benzedrine now that you mention it.

Yep, I see it now. Ok that makes sense, but why would he hit it so often in the movie, if I remember right benzedrine is fairly strong.

Well, in interviews, Mads described Le Chiffre as asthmatic...but of course he didn't read the book! :)
