No poster art for U.S. Casino Royale tie-in
But maybe the UK edition will use poster art.

It does seem a little strange. Maybe they would need to create a new mass market size version and it just wasn't worth the cost. Cheaper to add a line to the current trade size edition. I didn't want to press. They were cool enough to give me this answer, so...Seems like a BS excuse. They could have easily used the teaser poster with Daniel that has been out since at least May. Just silly. Oh well.

Hehe. Hey, man, I'll take what I can get! Some publishers just don't answer my emails. Can't tell you how many emails I've sent to Miramax asking if they're going to be publishing Young Bond 3. I'm keeping the pressure on.

Miramax only bought the rights to the first two Young Bond novels; SilverFin and Blood Fever. Are they going to renew and stay in the Young Bond business, or will IFP find a new U.S. publisher? It's a real question mark at this point. Why wouldn't they publish it?

Is the image of Bond outside the Casino the official poster, or a second teaser?

It did cross my mind that this could be spun into an anti-Craig story by the "still-can't-get-over-the-fact-that-Pierce-Brosnan-isn't-Bond-even-after-two-fantastic-trailers-and-incresingly-good-buzz-indicating-this-might-be-the-best-Bond film-in-decades" crowd. But I think those types of stories have become pretty transparent.I'm surprised it took so long for someone to crack that joke.

I have one exactly like that minus the cute sticker. Thanks, Penguin. Here's the final US art (blurb has been revised to read: "Now A Major Motion Picture").

"Now A Major Motion Picture"

It is strange, but like I said in my article on YBD, it isn't a first. In fact, it was typical during the '80s. And maybe we'll still get poster art on a UK edition - I hope.
"Now A Major Motion Picture"
A bit of a dated expression, that, although it was presumably worded that way to chime with the "retro" cover. Still, I don't see what would have been wrong with using a photo of Craig or one of the posters instead - it'd sell rather more copies, surely? And they used a pic of Matt Damon on the cover of a tie-in reissue of Ludlum's THE BOURNE SUPREMACY, even though the book is nothing like the film (and it's been done before many times with Bond, too, e.g. the Moore movie artwork on an edition of THE MAN WITH THE GOLDEN GUN, which novel is hardly very similar to the *ahem* motion picture).
Strange. Oh, well, their loss (of my money). With a film-related cover I'd definitely have bought yet another copy of CASINO ROYALE. Now, no way, Jose.
