I believe this to be true because now all the photos that are coming out for those scenes are in colour.

An interesting thought I've just had in another thread, however, is that for these b/w scenes they may have actually darkened Craig's hair in places to give more contrast.

The film is still in post-production and a lot of things can happen. I dont like the idea with B&W anyway.
Well they won't be able to make it colour- if they haven't shot it on monochrome stock, it'll still be lit and shot for b/w. It's staying b/w.

There is a photo of Daniel Craig in a black jacket. He is sitting in a chair and he is going to shoot a man. I saw this as a colour photo and a B+W photo.

Well yeah- the photographer brought along a camera with colour film. The man with the film camera (which is a different camera) probably brought along black and white stock to shoot on.

Aye, those pictures are different to the film. The PTS is all shot, if you notice, in old school film-noir style camera angles and the lighting is for that effect. It would look odd in colour.
I love the noir style, looks amazing.

Yep. It's one-point lighting. A typical convention of Film Noir to add characteristic definition and shadows, as are the slightly abstract camera angles/scenery.
This scene was designed specifically for black and white.

Yo Sn007py, the black and white WILL be in the film, defo, and believe me, its a GOOD thing. Maybe all Pre-title sequences should be that way in future. It makes a change from the usual 100% technicolour Bondage we have been subjected to for over 40 years.
Bondage? They are going for the R rating then

they are only doing the pre-title sequence in b&w for Casino Royale - to signify the change from before Bond became a Double-O (scenes in b&w) to obtaining his license to kill (switch to color).
I do think it's a brilliant idea and a cool effect for all, including CR-doubters.

It's only for five or six minutes, I think you'll make it through okay.I don't care for black and white either.

I agree with you, I think the sequence is going to be a standout.Based on what we've seen so far, the B&W sequence seems like it will appropriately moody and atmospheric... I tnik it's going to be great...

The fight with Obanno is in black and withe in the teaser... but that's near the end of the film... so I think It's going to be ibn color
That's not the end of the film, that's in the middle of the film.
Also they put some pieces in b&w in the trailer to give the trailer a theme. Those bits are not from the PTS, but you can clearly see the different in lighting and cinematography in the scenes which are in the pts.

Now that we've seen the movie, wasn't this PTS absolutely fantastic?
The intensity of the bathroom killing.
The gun-barrel cut.

Only this time it was 'one shot, one kill.'
