Casino Royale's gun barrel is of course going to be a little different, but I'm pretty sure that it's only going to be for this one film, although I do like what they are doing with it.

But people who agree with me, and myself are just going to have to live with it.
I hope they return to the traditional way. Either stick to tradition or get rid of it. But again, it is part of Bond.
Is no-one mourning the fact that this Bond won't start with the gunbarrel moving across the screen???

I'm sure there is but there have to be one off's now and then. Like I'm sure there was people mourning "Nobody Does It Better" as TSWLM's theme for being a Bond that didnt have the title of the movie as the song name or LTK for being the first Bond that didnt use a Fleming title.
One thing I am a tad sad about is that Daniel Craig will be the only OO7 to not share screen time with Desmond Llewelyn.

Yes, when I see a new Bond movie, I always look forward to seeing the circle moving across the screen....
Oh well, we will just have to get used to it...

It doesnt really need to be a tux Bond's wearing. There have already been different set of poses(kneeling, jumping etc..) hats and not hats. So I wouldn't mind if they leave out the tux. But they need to start the future movies with the gunbarrel.

I didn't know this until today... And frankly, I'm a little pissed. Who made this decision, and what fan-base did they have in mind when they made it. BRILLIANT Hollywood. BRILLIANT

Am I missing something here? Whats gonna happen to the Gunbarrel in CR?
This spoiler leaked into mainstream discussions a few months ago. But when I first posted about it all hell broke loose, I got crucified for revealing it.
If you really want to know, I'll use spoiler code, read if you want:
There's a reason for that, and if anyone's curious to know more, PM me (no I won't send you the script) or start a thread in the spoiler forum.

Did you see the teaser trailer? Did you really think they were going to have two gunbarrels in the film?
And what does Hollywood have to do with this? As far as I know the film was produced in the UK.

I know. I'm just meaning film, big screen, movies in general. It's going downhill fast in my opinion. Sorry for the miscue. I've probably done it all over. But I DID know its being produced in the UK, I just use Hollywood in general

I personally appreciate a lot the idea for CR's gunbarrel, but I would like them to stick with tradition for the upcoming movies.
Ditto.

YeahI can see your point, but is it really a tradition if it's broken? I'm not sad that they're breaking tradition. I'm sad that there isn't going to be an opening gunbarrel sequence to get my bond-adrinaline pumping

I'm mourning it immensely. I've grown to like almost everything about the film except that. Over time I've come to terms with the 'Bond Begins' and after seeing Daniel in other movies I have no worries about him, but I just cannot agree with losing the traditional gunbarrel. I know it's small beans in the big picture, but it just seems like a travesty, almost, to not have a Bond film start with the white dots and the gunbarrel. I'm also dissapointed that because of that we more than likely wont be hearing the famous 'da da daaaaaa da da daaaaaaa da da da da' that gets me so pumped at the beggining of every Bond movie it plays. This was a problem with TND and TWINE, the music was good but didn't have that punch.I don't like the idea of the gunbarrel for CR.
But people who agree with me, and myself are just going to have to live with it.

This is just for now - and it fits with the general idea of the movie.

I'm all for the suit idea...It kinda makes me sick how overused the tuxedo has become...like all the promotions and stuff and he has to wear it in every film and its just ridiculous...CR is set a large part in a casino. The tux makes sense in this case but in every movie and the gunbarrel and the ads for every film? Gimme a break. Put the focus on the suits...I like them better, personally. Tuxes are way too formal and only used on rare occasion's (unless you're a waiter at a 5 star restaurant or something) in reality so it should be the same with 007. JMHO.

I am in the camp of those who really like the gunbarrel idea for CR, but would like some modicum of tradition retained for future films. I think it would be cool, for example, to have a traditional gunbarrel, but going back to the Bond-in-suit days, or especially making the shot more realistic by (not having the bullet travel into the opposite gunbarrel, but somehow hitting the shooter in the head) having the blood animation blur the images it covers, just so we get the point that blood is thick, and perhaps Bond even drops his stance as the shot swivels down instead of freezing. Actually, pay no attention to that last one, but I really like that blood idea.
