I noticed on the Eva Green QuickNews story "Green a Witchy Woman" (with "Variety" as a source):

"Green has an option to potentially star in any future Daniel Craig Bond films should producers decide to bring her back (but what Bond girl ever comes back for a second round?...)."

Does this mean that the ending to Casino Royale has been changed from the book, or are we to assume that she will be playing a different character? :)

I figured it was just honest obliviousness as to the plot of CR. Kinda like calling it a remake or referring to one "Vespa" Lynd. No biggie, I'd say.

New character. NO WAY they've changed the ending. The whole freakin' movie is about the ending.

I think it might be standard to have some sort of sequel clause in a contract. I wouldn't read too much into this.

She'll be in flashbacks if indeed she does return. Or perhaps she'll take the Maud Adams route but I doubt it.

If they stay with the book in Casino Royale and make Bond 22 start where Casino Royale ends she might play Vesper again with her role set in the past (since her character has a certain history in the book that might be relevant in Bond 22 if it

The only way she will be able to come back will be from a flashback. That's it.

She'll return as Vesper's evil twin sister, Nester! With a big scar on her face.

*Purvis and Wade high five*

As JCRendle said, a sequel clause is standard in all contracts. Every actor on the film has this clause in their contract. There's no reason to think this is an indicator Eva/Vesper will return. Come on...

Is it a story like the possible return of Michelle yeoh in DAD?

In the book Vesper, dies at the end. Why the producers have to change something so inportant in Bond charachter development?

Vesper and Tracy, with their death, change deeply inside James Bond

And the producers said this a new beginning, and in this first step they want to show us, a rough cut of what bond will became.

And probably, what bond will became, is part of vesper betrayal.

I don't think they should resurrect vesper for a future movie.

I don't think that they will bring Vesper back, at least for anything other than flashbacks. Like JCRendle and Zencat have said, it appears to be a fairly common practice to put sequel clauses into actors' contracts.

The new film she is co-staring in is the first part of a trilogy, I assumed they got confused between an option to return in these sequels, and an option to return in Bond films, which we known aint happening.

Of course, that was true. Wai Lin was in the early drafts of DAD. She was Bond's Hong Kong contact, I believe.

Every Bond film is, in a sense, a sequel. So surely they must have developed non-standard contracts?

Perhaps they could do a Vesper spinoff, a sort of prequel to CASINO ROYALE. :)

Flashbacks and voice overs. Do not forget that in the novels Bond goes back to "see" her almost every year until he meets Tracy.

So after the 'Wai-Lin' and 'Jinx' spin-off movies we will have 'Vesper Lynd: Back With A Vengeance' movie?
What will the dynamic duo of Michael & Barbara think of next? :)

I thought the only reason Maud did two was because they were running out of women to supplement all the Moore films? :)

No, no, no:

What Coming Soon says: "The project is the first installment of a potential trilogy based on Phillip Pullman's "His Dark Materials."

Green, who plays Vesper Lynd in the 21st James Bond movie Casino Royale, has signed a deal for one film, with an option for two more if the studio completes the trilogy."

I think that JoBlo misinterpreted this as an option to return to Casino Royale, when it's REALLY an option to return to the The Golden Compass.

Still, I wouldn't mind her as the new Maud Adams one bit. :)

Not that I would want it this way, but at the end of OHMSS Hunt wanted to start DAF with the death of Tracy because of the downer that people would leave the theatre with. They wouldn't do that with Casino Royale and Vesper would they??

No, fraid not. The last few scenes of the movie depend on her death. And hopefully Michael and Babs would realise that not having her die would be one destruction of Fleming's work too far!!

I like the ending of the film as it is, in fact, I love the end of the film as it is - please don't change it!!!
