Yes indeed- he looks great. There's a little conversation in the Apple thread, but it makes sense to have it somewhere more obvious.

So, is the iPod a gadget or Craig's own? Seems more likely to be Bond's I think as he's holding his gun so isn't exactly relaxing between scenes, plus there's no earphones.

The suit and mp5 remind me of GoldenEye007 for some reason. Looking pretty swishty.

I held back from saying it - but I really don't like Bond getting near machine guns. But.... it depends on the context. Goldeneye PTS = Bad use of machine gunning. Used in a realistic way = no problems. If they have Bond gunning down half an army with a machine gun in CR I won't be pleased.

Agree. I prefer the simple semi-automatic than the giant gun. A bit of an overkill, no?

Still, he does look good in the 3-piece suit. Much better than the classless, thuggy look that has been around with the awful Dalton-style clothes they have put him in.

I actually liked Pierce Brosnan's 007 with a machine gun in the GOLDENEYE PTS. Plus, I am not sure how great it will appear with Daniel Craig, this is just a still picture.
That's like saying a movie will be great just based on a teaser when a good editor can make literally any movie look great in a teaser. A prime example of that is THE 13TH WARRIOR. The trailer looked great, the movie was lousy.

I think it's a gadget, because it looks like the same one Vesper had in the dinner picture.

Or maybe Green and Craig just do a lot of iPod-ing between takes.

That looks great. They caught him a natural pose that looks like something out of Pulp Fiction.

I do agree that he shouldn't be taking out half an army with that gun, but I have no problem with Bond using a machine gun when the situation warrants.

Yeah- I find it a little hard to believe it is Craig's own as if you're holding a very large gun you're busy enough not to be listening to your iPod: I'm sure they don't let the actor wander off with enormous automatic weapons between takes! Plus I doubt the wardrobe people would want him carrying his iPod around in his suit- it might spoil the lines. Might be wrong, though.

Yes indeed, it is a cell phone and not an iPod. It's the same phone that Eva Green was holding in the other photos from last week on set in Karlovy Vary. The scene in the movie where this shot is taken from is probably well known to those that have read the script draft:

Actually, he does have one earbud visible (his head is turned almost to profile, so I can't say about the far side ear. Go back and look at the picture again. I had to look a second time before I saw it. The earbud is just visible above the extended magazine of the sub-machine gun (the magazine is too slim for it to be loaded with rifle-calibre ammunition, therefore, it must be a sub-machine gun, not a machine gun).

From the look of the magazine, I'd guess it is chambered in 9mm; but I can not identify the weapon. The barrel and suppressor look like they are from an HK MP5SD; but the receiver is all wrong. Is it possible that is a weapon currently in use by Royal Marines or the British Army? Can anyone identify the weapon?

I'm starting to doubt that these pics are pure paparazzi... more like set ups of some sort. And the little white thing... it looks like an ipod... but also a bit like a while Ericsson.... it seems a bit thick for an ipod... but I'm no expert on these things.

Really? I always figured he'd use a pistol for that scene.

It is funny though, Craig looks more natural with a machine gun than Brozza did.

Honestly, I think it may just be taking a bunch of promotional photos, and Craig is just iPod-ing during a break.

But on the "pistol" bit:

That picture owns. Craig really IS James Bond - and he's looking badass.

My thought too.

The "straight on" pic of him with the gun is GREAT. Too bad its got the goofy watermark. Let's get some more official stills already!

Well MarkT posted it, but it's really thanks to the site DedicatedtoDaniel (great site for pics). That photo just happens to be so incredibly Bondian, I don't know what more I could ask for. Awesome.
