Seeing as there doesn't seem to be much news on the CR-front right now, I thought it might be fun to engage in something constructive. Like wondering what tune Bond would have as his mobile phone ringtone? What about the other Bond characters?

If only Rog was still Bond; the Bond theme itself would make a smashing ringer for his phone. But what about the other Bonds? Would Brosnan Bond download amusing and satirical ringtones from the internet for his phone? Does Miss Moneypenny have Barry Manilow on her stylish yet discreet mobile? And does the idea of M having fun with the Crazy Frog sound plausible?

Come on and share yer two pennies.

Bond would have as his ringtone the theme tune from He-Man.

At the moment I myself have two ringtones: The theme tune from Count Duckula for ring and a quote from Trapdoor for messages.

It has to be Crazy Frog! He looks a little like Daniel Craig... (sorry, I like him really! I really do!)

Somehow I could imagine that working in The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen for Connery's character.

Bond's ringtone would be unfussy, stylish and classic: A simple electronic burr. Timeless and not tacky. Plain? Probably, but it beats having his own theme as a tone.

Would his mobile not be silent with "vibration node" on for those times he needs to be stealthy? You know, like a spy? No?

Well obviosuly the real James Bond, Fleming's Bond, would have "Cigarettes and alcohol".

Gardner would change it and Benson re-instate it.

True! Perhaps with a slight alteration to the lyrics: Cigarettes and alcohol (and benzedrine).

well if he's anything like me, he'd change it up from time to time, depending on his situation: if he needed to be stealthy, sure, he'd set it to silent; but if he were in a public area, like at a party or in a casino or something, he might have a tone either instead of the vibrate setting or perhaps in addition to the vibrate setting.

in that case:

Bond's ringtone would be unfussy, stylish and classic:

The Pink Panther theme by Henry Marcini!

you can't get much classier than that, baby!

Or maybe he would have two phones - hide one and call it to create a distraction when in a 'tight spot'.

I'm going home now.

if he's gonna do that, the song he has to use is "Play That Funky Music, White Boy" by KC and the Sunshine Band!

Wasn't it just a plain old ring in TND? Not very creative though. Maybe Q set it for him though - after all, doesn't Bond admit earlier in the film to having problems working with cell phones - like talking into the wrong end?

Not necessarilly. Can you imagine Connery singing this to Pussy?

Whoops. I think I may have been responsible for that one... Although I'm not saying I've done it, and having brought it up shouldn't cast any reflection on personality in general...
