Thanks to this week's Auto Express in the UK, we can see what Daniel Craig's Bond will be driving. Here it is!

Posted Image

Facisinatingly it says the car will actualy fit between the DB9 and Vanquish ranges- not a Vanquish replacement at all! And to my eye, it appears to be a two-seater or doesn't have as much room in the back as the DB9 does at all. It has the 6.0 litre V12 and should do over 200mph.

Wow... that's pretty sweet.

You can tell it's supposed to evoke the DB 5.

Looks like Ashton Martin did their job with the car.

Beautiful, but the strakes extend into part of the door surface.
Odd.

What a great looking car. Knowing that it wont be equipped to the bone has me eager to see how it's used as well!

It's very muscular and purposeful-looking (much like its first owner!); quite a departure from the normal elegant styling (again- like its first owner). I'm still amazed that they've decided there is a market between the DB9 and Vanquish as they are so incredibly similar already and all three have the same engine, but obviously they think they can sell it. Presumably that's the advantage of their VH system of making cars- they can come up with as many variants as they like.

the DB9 is a touring car as is the Vanquish. I really see this as a "Vanquish level" for the new AMV8, their 2 seater, which only sells for around $100,000 ans is the entry-level Aston.
I still love my DB7 coupe!

Too many "fins". And rather short in wheelbase - but I guess this is a small sporty car. Black would be good for the film. Silver is boring.

And those alloys remind me of a BMW M3. Otherwise, its ok.

You know, this is weird, but I had a dream last night that I saw footage from CR with Craig driving the DBS and I swear it was this car with the flares, etc. (Of course, my unconscious did have that blueprint image to build on so maybe this isn't so weird.)

In my dream Craig was wearing something that looked like an orange or yellow sweater vest and he was driving through a warehouse of some kind. At one point the car comes to a stop and I could see it was not Craig, but a stunt driver who looked just like him.

Yep, how pathetic. We now have a sexy Vesper and all I can work up is a dream about Daniel Craig's stuntman.

It's not. I once dreamt that Timothy Dalton walked into one of my lectures at university and sat next to me.

Beat that.

With the locales, Women, and now this car, CR is looking to be the most visually stunning Bonds films or film in general, to come out in a while. I approve!

Agressive lines and a cool concept. In my mind it has a lamborghini feel to it. maybe just my impression, but who cares? the car is awesome.

Beat this. I once had a dream about James Bond (Pierce Brosnan) in a warehouse in Japan . He was wearing a straw hat and a Japanese outfit. All these bad guys started coming in and Bond got on a skateboard and started killing them all. As he was killing them, he did tricks on halfpipe. Weird...

If I was being critical (which I am not), I would say that the DBS is a little too similar to the DB9 and Vanquish for comfort. Whatever, it's still a classy looking motor. I certainly wouldn't say no to a test drive.

It's getting ridiculously hard to tell now (and they rarely make it clear) but I think it's a pic from Aston.

Don't like it. Looks to much like it's trying to imitate the ugly Ferrari's or Lamborghini's. I liked Aston's for their curves, this just spits on it. I might warm up to it though -- will need to see it in action.

Hi, as someone who lives in the UK and loves reading about car i often buy Autoexpress. I also take with a pinch of salt many fo their mockups which this clearly is, they have taken the AMV8 and done some photoshopping on it. On the article i am sure it also said that it was a guess at what the new DBS looked like. If Aston are to be believed the new DBS will be a replacement for the Vanquish using the newer body platform of both the DB9 and the AMV8 and it will look more like the recent Rapide concept in terms of overall size ( its going to be a beast of a GT).

So as i said take this with a pinch of salt, if anything it looks like a Toyota Celica and I doubt that would please the design boys at Gaydon!

It is not perhaps as classically handsome as the DB9 or Vantage, but I bet it will really perform well in a car chase.

Here's the piece:

[quote]Brit GTs for your eyes only

Here's a new car that's set to have both Aston Martin fans and screen spy James Bond aficionados in 0-0-Heaven.

The secret agent's new company car will be revealed this spring, but in the meantime it's in the Czech capital Prague, where it is being filmed for the forthcoming Bond flick, Casino Royale.

Based on the firm's VH platform - which is shared with the V8 Vantage, DB9 and Vanquish - the new sports car looks every bit as good as its big-screen colleagues.

Auto Express' picture in this week's issue shows the exciting newcomer, which is the second Aston Martin DBS to be driven by 007 - the first appeared with George Lazenby in the film On Her Majesty's Secret Service. Powered by the firm's proven 6.0-litre V12, the DBS is not a replacement for the flagship Vanquish.

Instead it will slot between the DB9 and Vanquish, hence the DBS badge. But despite a predicted top speed in excess of 200mph, the car will not have things all its own way in the premium coup
