Ditto for me.I think the 70s Bonds were far superior to the 80's ones. The 70s films were bright, colourful and alot of fun, especially The Man With the Golden Gun and The Spy Who Loved Me. The 80s ones are kind of dull and stale, with only The Living Daylights really offering anything new and fresh.

Yes, I'll go along with that one as well. TLD and OP (guilty pleasure of mine) were about the only shiny, polished spots on an otherwised tarnished and rusty era. I don't know what direction they were trying to go to in that era, and with the ultra-serious FYEO alongside the ultra-campy OP, the produces probably didn't know either.I think the 70s Bonds were far superior to the 80's ones. The 70s films were bright, colourful and alot of fun, especially The Man With the Golden Gun and The Spy Who Loved Me. The 80s ones are kind of dull and stale, with only The Living Daylights really offering anything new and fresh.
The Seventies films, while widely panned, were at least consistently entertaining and maintained the ridiculous comedy aspects that defined Roger's films. Hell, even DAF was a Roger Moore Bond film that just happened to star Sean Connery, right down to the pink tie and moonbuggy "comedy bit."

I'm not a big fan of DAF, TMWTGG or MOONRAKER from the 1970s.

The 70s is book ended by two weak films, DAF and MR. TSWLM is the highlight.
The 80s starts off with a great one, FYEO and climaxes with TLD. It did taper off with LTK.

I like both the '70s and '80s eras of Bond, but much prefer the '70s. Why? Because Bond was never so much bloomin' fun as during that decade, and the perfect representative film of that era is not, IMO, THE SPY WHO LOVED ME but THE MAN WITH THE GOLDEN GUN, which gets my vote for the most entertaining 007 flick of all time.
I think The 80s were the second(after 60s) best great decade for James Bond fans: 6 films, 3 007 stars including 2 of the best

The Spy Who Loved Me and Moonraker are my top two favorite in the entire series, while my top two from the 80's - Octopussy and The Living Daylights sit at about #5, #6 overall.

The 70s has its gems too (The Spy Who Loved Me, Moonraker), but it's bogged down a bit by the others.

The '70s really only had The Spy Who Love Me going for it as a great, with Live And Let Die being respectably good. The other three are probably in the bottom five Bond movies overall. Probably my least favorite decade to date.
