Not too keen on Andrew Lazar though given his track record.
Merely going by the list on CBn, Lazar has a pretty good track record: Ten Things I Hate About You was a literate teen comedy and Confessions of a Dangerous Mind is easily one of the best films of the last five years. None of his other credits really give an insight on how good he'd be for "Fleming," though.

So, who plays Sean who plays James?

To paraphrase a certain actor, I hope this is the one where they peel back the layers and see what was behind the man. Then again, we already know - booze, cigarettes, women and food. Considering there were two previous Fleming biopics and one that was just released a couple months ago, why indeed. And now the $64,000 question : Why? I can't imagine there's much of an audience for this.
Is this Warners' idea of getting back at Sony for getting MGM instead of their company?

BTW, Andrew Lazer is a smart, solid producer.

Maybe so, but his list of films per IMDB has a number of... "stinkers" in it like Death to Smoochy, Lucky Numbers, and Space Cowboys.
It can still be good and a producer is not really.. a usual person you can blame for the failure the film. I was just throwing out my observation.
Hugh Laurie for Fleming!
Geoffrey Rush as older Ian Fleming. Rush has always been a dead ringer for Fleming, IMO.

But I would cast Laurence Fox as the young Fleming:

And his uncle Edward as the older Fleming:

Now, who should play Anne? Can't think of an actress right away. I love Cate Blanchett and Emily Watson, but I don't think either of them is perfect for the part.
And who should play Noel? They failed miserably with casting him for that BBC Bondmaker bore (the guy had the voice, but looked like an ageing DJ on a fancy dress ball). Fry would be the obvious choice- too obvious. I don't get to watch British television often enough, is there some other unknown comic genius or chameleontic character actor on the rise, that could do Noel justice?
