The Moonraker fight scene between Bond and Chang plays like one long Unintentional Comedy Moment; Chang yells, fights awkwardly, Bond makes karate motions and gurgling sounds when Chang grabs him, eventually joins in on the random yells and tosses Chang out of a clock tower, where we are subsequently treated to a KOMEDY! moment in the form of a Casablanca reference. Urrrgggghhhh...

LOL. Although I don't think that fight was meant to be 100% serious, either.

That's my favorite fight scene in the movie, and the payoff is excellent.

Really? Of its parallels in the other Lewis Gilbert-directed Bond movies, Bond vs. the Driver and Bond vs. Sandor are easily superior to it, in my opinion. That's my favorite fight scene in the movie, and the payoff is excellent.

Well, I wasnt trying to compare it to anything, but if you want to, we can
However, I will agree with you that the fight in YOLT is better, but only because the editing of that scene heightens the tension in what is otherwise a run of the mill fight. And if you think about it all three fights are pretty similar is that they're all played pretty straight and have a "cute" payoff.

Very true, but the fight with Sandor flows more naturally out of the plot (and is in a more recognizably dangerous location -- we don't know there's a clock tower to fall out of until the final third of the Chang fight), and the fight with the Driver is freakin' brutal; despite Connery's boredom, he's getting picked up and chucked through walls, and Peter Fainene Maivia (the wrestler who plays the Driver) actually manages to outact Connery in the process.Well, I wasnt trying to compare it to anything, but if you want to, we canReally? I certainly feel it's better than The Sandor fight, as the only thing in that fight worth anything is the payoff; watching Bond coldly let a man fall to his death is chilling, especially in a Moore film (a scene that is reproduced wonderfully in QoS).

Never mind that all of these fights stem from the same source; namely, the fight between Bond and Mr. Jones in Dr. No (the plot arc between it and YOLT are even the same: Bond goes to a foreign country, and, after an ally's death, gets into a car with someone he knows works for the enemy; there is a scene between them where deception is revealed, and then, finally, the two fight until the baddie dies).

The climax of the ski chase, which is pretty exciting stuff for the most part despite a few cheap visual jokes and having motorcycles with machine guns that can't hit anything, is my target. Bond's escape from the bobsled run is halted by a cabin/barn, causing him to wipe out.
Kreigler follows and for whatever reason does a Looney Tunes imitation by driving through the cabin/barn and is thrown from his motorcycle. Okay, maybe one can argue he couldn't hault his momentum, fair enough, it still looks cartoonish.
Though shaken by the fall, Kreigler appears close enough that he can stop still stop Bond before he skiis off, being an Olympic level athlete and all.
Kreigler finds the fall has ruined his rifle, so what does he do? He throws the rifle at Bond, then picks up the motorcycle and hurls it and one of the ruined tires at Bond, none of which even come close.
Impressive show of strength, but to what end? I find that uninentionally funny.

This will likely add fuel to the fire I stirred up over in the Moore forum over my criticisms about the overrated FYEO.

I found the Rocky-like score at that point even more hilarious.

I'm not the biggest fan of FYEO either, but I've always assumed that scene was meant to be funny.

anyone think it was similar to the Jaws scene in the spy who loved me where he picks up the rock after bond and triple x get away

The person who dubbed Marguerite LeWars did a terrible job of it, I've got to agree with you, but I bet they thought LeWars's natural Jamaican accent was too thick, so they dubbed over her.A line from DR. NO - "You, you rats!" Probably the worst acting I have ever seen in a Bond movie.

Blofeld's brainwashing speech about chickens...
"Remember when you hated everything about chickens, you couldn't stand to look at one" or some much hilarity!!
and....
when Bond first does his impersonation of Sir Hilary, to Sir Hilary's face! The look on George Baker's face is hilarious even though he later provides the (dubbed) voice.

Damn, I thought I was the only one who noticed that! Granted, at the time, I figured it was a post-production foul-up, considering that Bond doesn't start impersonating Bray until he reaches Switzerland, and the voice speaking the line isn't deep enough to be Lazenby's, but...when Bond first does his impersonation of Sir Hilary, to Sir Hilary's face! The look on George Baker's face is hilarious even though he later provides the (dubbed) voice.

The jaguar is part of a scene they cut out of the movie: Q first opens the wrong box with the animal, and bond says "A Jaguar?" – or something similar.in the background there's a cage with a leopard pacing around in it!
[…]
one goon gets his head slapped in a piano lid and another gets bonked on the head with a cello...
The absurd part with the cello etc. was intentional, I believe.

I'm surprised that they didn't leave that in.
BMW may have nixed that; being competitors and all.

From Dr. No.
- Bonds reactions during the car chase, so hilarious. I just love how he goes round the same corner 5 times, and turns the wheel, even though he still goes in a straight line.
- "Okay, Okay, I'll try and keep him here for a couple of hou-I'LL HAVE TO GO NOW!!!!!!!!!! I'LL TALK TO YOU LATER!!!" - Yeah, that's not suspicious at all.
- "I'M HUNGRAYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!! let's go out and eat?"
LMAO!!! It's a lot funnier reading it the way you wrote it than watching it!

Two from OHMSS:-

The whole "chicken" dialogue taken at face value is very funny. But I guarantee there was a very dark overtone to the whole scene as Blofeld was just beginning to brainwash the girls at that point.
I did like the whole tape console that Blofeld was using though. It definately reminded me of the language lab classroom back in my high school Spanish class!
Anybody catch AVTAK on television this past weekend? There are many unintentionally amusing moments in this unfortunate entry, but the botched special effect of Bond crashing through the boat in Paris is not only an obvious stunt double moment, it's freaking hilarious. It looks like they painted Rog's likeness on a surfboard and dropped it through the deck above. Bond quipping and walking away is also pretty funny, much more so because of the bad effect.
Reminds me of the Three Stooges shorts where they would always drop dummies from the ceiling during similar type stunts then follow up with a quick cut to the Stooges dusting themselves up from the ground! Hilarious!

If you look at both scenes (the briefing in the limo, and the Q scene), both are edited to get us through them as quickly as possible. Which is probably why both scenes have the most edited out of them.
To put it another way, it's a fast way to get us from point A (Bond, M and the Minister talking) to point B (the party). It works really well to be honest, and it also conveys to us the rush that everyone is in to stop Carver's plans.
