I like them both and therefore I choose not to choose. CBn members seem to really be hung up on putting out a lot of these so-and-so vs. so-and-so threads lately.

I agree. I'd rank both of them equal at the moment as I've not seen enough of either to make a completely fair and accurate judgement.

I think it's pretty obvious as to where my allegiance lies.

Actually, his allegiance lies with Spice World, Roger Moore's best film to date.

I'm sorry, Spice World is Moore's second best film behind Boat Trip.

Only need a few more The Saint sets to go. Then to move onto The Persuaders!

Good luck with finding the two The Persuaders! sets. Amazon.com is selling them for $50+ which is a rip-off. I got a used Set 1 for $20.00 at Half Price Books and it was in great condition. No stores carry Set 1 or 2 so I'm having trouble finding Set 2 at a good price.

I know a store nearby who has them both. Just a case of how much though.

I voted for The Saint, even if so hard to choose... The Saint is more than a cult serie and Simon Templar led him to stardom.

Try eBay-a recent search brought a number of Persuaders! box sets available.

I'd love for Sony to release an Ivanhoe box set! I've seen 2 episodes but, being a Roger completist, I'd definitely pick that up.

I picked THE SAINT, mostly because I really dislike the fashions from the early 1970s :)

I didn't see that, but a Half Price Books I went to in the Cincinnati area last weekend had some other good DVD box sets from A&E unopened. I picked up the last Secret Agent set for $14.99. They also had The Protectors, Robert Vaughan's 1970s secret agent series, for $19.99 for seasons 1 and 2; one of the Tara King Avengers sets; some Honor Blackman Avengers sets; some Sherlock Holmes sets; Space 1999; Thunderbirds.

I'll keep my eyes open for others at a branch closer to me.

They always seem to be very close to the list price when I've seen them on eBay.

The Persuaders! LOVE the fashions, John Barry's theme, the opening credits that explains each and every week the origins of the two magnificent characters and of course the rapport between the Great Curtis and Sir Roger. I also love the bizarre, not-quite-1960s, not-quite-fully-1970s feel of the show. The Persuaders! is in my top five of favorite TV shows. One gripe: the DVD sets are ridiculously expensive and for measly half seasons!

Roger Moore fans in the US should know that BBC America is reshowing episodes of THE PERSUADERS. There was a triple-bill a couple of weeks back and I notice that in less than a week there is another triple-bill.

The Persuaders wins for me easily. I think the humorous interaction action between Roger and Tony make it special, along with the fact there is a genuine chemistry of feeling and caring of people of equal equity in their relationship from different characteristics. Also I think the budget and scripts are more impressive.
