Denise Richards, Charlie Sheen to Divorce

Denise Richards, Six Months Pregnant, Files for Divorce From Actor-Husband Charlie Sheen

Actress Denise Richards has filed for divorce from her actor-husband Charlie Sheen, citing irreconcilable differences, according to court papers filed Wednesday.

Richards, 34, is six months pregnant with the couple's second child. They also have a daughter, Sam, who will be a year old next week.

The couple married in June 2002 and co-starred in "Scary Movie 3." Richards and Sheen, 39, met while shooting the independent film "Good Advice" in 2000.

They began dating after Richards guest-starred on Sheen's former series "Spin City." The marriage was Sheen's second and Richards' first.

Sheen, who now stars in the CBS sitcom "Two and a Half Men," is best known for his work in the movies "Platoon," "Ferris Bueller's Day Off" and "Hot Shots."

Richards, a former Bond girl, has appeared in a host of movies, including "Wild Things" and "Starship Troopers."

Damn, they seemed so happy. I tell ya, if you are part of a celeb couple and appear on a lot of magazines...look out. Divorce is just around the corner.

Yes, this is certainly fast, even by celebrity standards. What makes me sad is that their second child isn't even born yet and they're divorcing. I feel sorry for the kids, even if they will grow up as pampered Hollywood royalty.

Indeed, a shame. Was pretty surprised when first reading this article.

I'm pretty shocked by this, i figured they had a few more years before the divorce talk started circulating.

Wow. They seemed like the perfect match. I can't believe he would cheat on her but maybe that's the reason. I'm just guessing though.

Maybe she's trying to keep in fashion like so many other 'she's' by divorcing her rather richer husband.

Not sure why this would be "pathetic"? :) [Perhaps I misunderstood zen's reasoning] Divorce rates are over 50% nationwide in the US. That is pathetic.

Knowing what I do about Charlie's past, I can imagine why this is happening. Denise must have felt a real urgency to take this direction at such a sensitve time. She's a sweet gal. I wish her the best.

This doesn't surprise me. All Hollywood couples eventually break up... except for Bon Jovi and his wife.

That's probably what he meant - that and it seems to be about 97% with Hollywood. Marriage means nothing anymore. It's a shame.

Maybe I'm off-base here, but why are we discussing this in a Bond forum? Yeah, so Denise Richards was in one (very, very poor) Bond flick -- does this mean we need to talk about her every move? I'm not trying to be difficult -- I just don't see the topic's relationship to the forum at hand.

Not surprised, I'm only surprised that they got married in the first place.

Shocked, completely shocked I am.

*I sound like Yoda there!* :)

They seemed to be the perfect couple. They were very low-profile, so I'm surprised at this news. Especially since she's going through this matter when she's still pregnant.

I think Sheen's dire past might of resurfaced again...

DENISE AND CHARLIE ASK FOR RESPECT

Split couple DENISE RICHARDS and CHARLIE SHEEN have reunited briefly to ask the press to give them peace as they adapt to single life.

Pregnant former JAMES BOND girl Richards filed for divorce earlier this week (01MAR05), citing irreconcilable differences.

And now the separated stars have teamed up to release a joint statement: "We're deeply saddened by the recent events and, out of love and concern for our daughter SAM, our unborn child and each other, we ask that you respect our privacy at this difficult time."

In next week's People Magazine, an unnamed source close to the two stars claims that Denise Richards was jealous of Charlie's obsession and close ties with...

Jon Cryer.

Bill Maher once said: Show me a beautiful woman and I'll show you someone who's tired of [censored]ing her. I guess Charlie felt the same way... sad considering she's 6 months pregnant! :)

The machine is back! :)

It's too bad, but I think Denise would have been foolish not to consider Charlie's past before marrying him.

Someone who spends $50,000 on hookers is not someone I would want to father my children.

The reason I made this thread was because she is a popular Bond girl for some of the fans, so they may be interested in talking about this.

You naturally don't have to bother with this thread if it doesn't interest you.

I heard it was because of Sheen's long hours doing Two and a Half Men that caused the split.

Quick, Finesse, get in there! :)
