Um... Sam, my friend, you were in xXx. That may have just scratched your name of the possible Bond cast list.

Sorry Seannery, didn't see your topic before. I merged mine into yours.

I don't think I'll ever buy the Connery as Bond villain rumors. As for Sam Jackson, sign that man up now. He's one of those actors who almost always improves any project he's in.

I hope he is able to play a villain in the future.

I'd be interested in seeing him in a film, perhaps as a smaller henchman or a reclusive like villain, such as Stromberg.

Samuel L. Jackson as a villain would be awesome. However, knowing EON they might hire him to play Felix or something crazy like that. But he does have the mark of a good physical villain. If he was the main bad guy, there could be a nice throw down between him and Clive or Hugh or whoever it is.
I'm not so sure about Connery being a villain. I don't think EON or some of the fans would go for it. I say dump Judi Dench and hire Sir Sean to be M! ![]()

Christopher Walken was well known when A View To A Kill was made and other high profile actors have played the parts of villains before as recently as Sean Bean in GoldenEye. I can think of numerous examples - Christopher Lee, Louis Jourdan, Michael Lonsdale, Curt Jurgens. Some of thse may not have been as big in the US market, but overseas they were huge. Jourdan was once voted as "the sexiest man alive."

Just don't have Connery be in the next Bond film at all or any other after that...ever.

I would love to see Sammy J in a Bond film, I personally saw him in San Francisco back in 2001 for the shooting of the film "Twisted", I got his attention outside the Tosca cafe by yelling "Hey Sammy!". Yea, that wasn't a good day for me, nor was it for Sammy. (That was such a bad movie!!)
Even though he lacks exclusivity, he's a great actor.

Sam Jackson is an amazing actor, and if the script was right, I think he'll make a fine villian.
More interestingly, if they did a remake of "Live and Let Die", Jackson will make the perfect Dr. Kanaga/Mr. Big. ![]()

[quote name='DLibrasnow' date='17 February 2005 - 22:30'][quote name='Seannery' date='17 February 2005 - 15:08'] Would Eon go for such high profile villians?

I think he'd be a good villian. I loved his "Mr. Glass" role in Unbreakable, very Bond villian-ish.

Well, he got his wish when he was banging on about being in a Star Wars movie, didn't he?
I wouldn't mind seeing him as a villain. Actually, I'd love it. Would be fitting with the whole xXx thing he's got going.

Around 1996, I heard a rumour that Connery wanted to play a Bond villain, but would only accept the role if it was "really evil" (and, of course, EON backed a truck full of money into his driveway). Ever since then, I've just had a vision of Connery sticking his own hand into a tank of pirahnas and laughing maniacally as they eat his hand. No idea why that struck me as "really evil", but there you go.
My best friend from high school has jokingly suggested Connery should be the villain in the next Bond film, with Lazenby, Moore, and Dalton (and now, I suppose, Brosnan) as his henchmen. As for Samuel L. Jackson, you just can't go wrong with that guy. Hell, make him the new Moneypenny for all I care- if he wants to be in a Bond flick, let him. If he is in a Bond film, why not have him play Le Chiffre in Casino Royale?

"I'd love to kick some 007 butt. Gimme that opportunity."
![]() Well if Quintin Tarrantino got his chance to direct a Bond movie, Samual L. would definitely get his chance to do some Bond butt kickin. Edited by licensetostudy, 17 February 2005 - 11:51 PM.

I was thinking along them lines myself. If Bond 21 is Casino Royale, then why not have Bond 22 based on LALD, albeit with a diferent title but staying closer to the book. Jackson would make a perfect Buonaparte Ignace Gallia. Maybe instead of SMERSH you could have the same new organisation Le Chiffre works for in Bond 21/CR.

I think Samuel L Jackson would be a terrific villain, in a good plot of course, that would also explore his abilities.
He's a great actor BTW.

Similar to the way that Liz Hurley won't be considered due to Austin Powers, I think Samuel being in xXx has screwed up his chances.

Why don't they be unconventional and cast him as LeChiffre? That would really blow your minds, wouldn't it?

Where did you hear that EON offered Connery a part as a bad guy? What film?
I think they were so angry at him then that they wouldn't have approached him.

I love Samuel L. Jackson's work and find him to be very entertaining. He would make a terrific main villian or henchman.

Or he could play a 00 agent who recommends as to whether or not Bond gets to be a 00. Because Bond is the Chosen One. The One Who Will Bring Balance to the 00 Section.
