For years now I have searched for an exact replica of the Walther PPK, with very little luck. I found two companies that I would remotely be interested in. They are

The Kimar brand PPK $80-$100

http://www.guns2u.co.../kimar_ppks.htm

The valtro brand PPK, with finger rest side grips. This is a good replica of the Dr. No Walther PPK. $60-$120

http://www.guns2u.co.../valtro_ppk.htm

After using and shooting the Kimar blank in person, I realized that was immediately out. It is a good replica for looks, but it lacks some very important details IMHO, the ejector port is shaped square, where on the real Walther PPK is more oval. The Valtro is a nice replica, and according to the Roger Moore and the Sean Connery PPK it does have the finger rest. But I like Pierce Brosnan's model in Goldeneye with the silver ejector port, and the silver tipped barrel, sticking out just slighly enouhg for a silencer to screw on, so I ruled the valtro out as well.

Just before I was about to give up, I looked at the "other" Walther guns. I have always liked the P88 and noticed that a company called "Umarex" made a replica of it, and the P99.

http://www.guns2u.co...arex_walp88.htm

I was studying it to the real P88, and noticed it had the real Walther markings! from that day forward I set out on a mission to find Umarex's comapny! I immediately typed in www.umarex.com, unfortunately I am not fluent in German, so I went to my search engine, typed in Umarex blank firing guns. And to my exitment I found a company in Germany that has an English and German site!. I immediately looked up Walther replica guns made by Umarex, and to my joy and satisfaction I found this!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

http://www.kaehny.de...r/waltherpp.htm

I have since discovered, through e-mail contact, that Umarex company owns Carl Walther inc. They make the real gun! this replica has the Walther markings, everything works just like on the real gun, it strips exactly the same. The safety, slide, hammer and clip are fully functional, this is an actual real shell of a Walther PPK, with blank firing insides, so the accuracy is guaranteed, and because it is being imported from Germany, and is not a real firarm, it won't have INTERARMS markings on it!!!!!!!!!! I think I have discoverd the ultimate replica Walther PPK. When it arrives I will be more then happy to e-mail the pics to someone who knows how to upload them on the forum. Always a pleasure. Thanks for the info Cdr. Dan.

I've been debating about getting a blank firing PPK. Some day I might pull the figurative trigger and buy one of these. It's good to know that I can get a 'real' Walther if I ever do.

turns out the same gun I posted about above, can take a specially made silencer to the dimensions of the Goldeneye silencer, and actually muffles the sound and the flash just like a real gun!

He's right on that one. Ebay always has at least one or two cap guns, plus a couple of BB guns, kicking around. Good luck!

Don't by the WICKE TWINE gun. By Brother got one and it broke the day he got it. Go for the one in the gun barrel packaging as these are more sturdy and robust. But then, I suppose if your not actually going to use it, then either would be fine.

Another intersting one I once saw, which I wish I'd bought!, was a GoldenEye PPK with silencer. It was the exact size but apparantly if you fit the silencer, it never came off again. So beware of this one.

Rich -

Try the JBIFC site and their store. I picked up my P-99 replica's there. The shipping and all that is a bit more $$$ but worth it. I bought the TND cap gun as well as a P-99 cap gun w/ silencer. It takes the plastic strip caps and is a bit more reliable than the first one I got. Also, I ordered the airsoft model which, much like my REAL P-99, has slide action, good weight, safety and clip action. It's fun for safe indoor shooting. It's my preferred prop gun (Zencat can attest to this from BCW-5).

Granted, I purchased all these and had them shipped pre 9/11 so I don't know if the rules/regs (even for replicas) have changed.

Good Hunting :)

Keep your eyes peeled, especially when DAD comes out. I'm sure there will be a lot of Bond memorabilia for sale then. The majority of I see online seem to be selling from the UK, so you may want to search online if the seller has a store or has another way if you don't want to buy that way. I see fewer American dealers with them. But the bottom line is online is the place I see most of them being sold.

I got my plastic Wicke PPK over a year ago and it sits nearby my computer. I was like a schoolkid at Christmas when it arrived. I've never had the desire to own the real thing and this was a great alternative. I've also got the TWINE P99 w/o silencer in my memorabilia collection. One of my worst online experiences came a couple years ago when the GoldenEye PPK came up and I forgot to bid and it got away for about $15. That hurt.

I'd recommend one to anybody that wants an alternative to the real thing. If you can find one.

My P99 is almost exactly the same as Dave's from the link above (though it's in black) and I'm completely happy with it...except for the damn orange required by US law  . Sort of ironic that a country that allows gun ownership doesn't allow fake guns to look real while a country that doesn't allow gun ownership does.

That orange stuff is bull! I have three six-shooter guns (that I painted gold in homage to you-know-who), and a black w/brown grip automatic. No idea what they're modelled after, but as for a Walther PPK, I bought a watergun modelled after a PPK (though its size was more of a Beretta) during leave from cadet camp, and a friend taped it up with aluminium tape, and then electrical tape for the grip. Unfortunately, our petty officer 'borrowed' it: I still don't have it, though I might confront him, as he does live in Winnipeg...

This was the quest that got me interested in James Bond. If you are willing to pay $103. There is a website where I purchased mine. (Looking for the link now) you can get a metal blank firing replica. This darling is made by Walther in Germany, so it has all the Walther markings. You can also purchase an adapter and supressor for it. It's a beautiful replica. Perfect in every way. Always a pleasure. Commander Dan

I've always wanted one of those PPK or P99 bb guns. Unfortunately, the laws in Canada say that you have to be over 18 to buy one. Oh well. I'll ask for one for my birthday that year. Until then, I'll have to scope out a cap gun in a store, since I don't have a credit card to pay online.

They're both bb guns, but still very attractive firearms.

You can buy these Air Soft Guns (with yellow pellets) that are Walter P99 and they are about $20 at Gander Mountain. My brother got one for his birthday and it works really well. Although he shot me in the leg and it really hurt. ( I still have a scar)

You are kidding me. My mum was shot in the leg by her bb-gun toting brother as well. Perhaps that's why she's reluctant to let me have one.

Found an ultra cool Walther P99 blank firing gun made by Walther.
Any of you people know if this would be legal in the UK?

Blank firing guns are perfectly legal in the UK, however i'm not sure of 'non-lethal' firing guns. The CS rounds certainly pose a big question - something like this is invented for self-defence. You CANNOT walk around in the UK and shoot people with ANYTHING in self defence (except in extream circumstances, and even then it's at the judges discretion if he charges you or not).

If you (or anyone) wants to be more like Bond then pay a visit to www.battleorders.co.uk
They have 100% UK legal versions of the PPK and P99 in BB guns, replicas and blank firing versions.

A gun like that could get you shot by the police in America. Especially now that the country is on a war footing. Blanks or nothing you point that at someone here the Police will open fire.

Well basically if you want a replica gun in the UK my advice is you are best to get one from a company within the UK. Otherwise customs tend to seize them - basically any replica that is capable or can easily be made capable of firing projectiles in line with whatever the exact legislation is. Also tends to be hard if you arent on UK main land (eg - Northern Ireland).

Go to:

http://www.phoenixguns.co.uk/

They have quite a good selection including the James Bond guns for sale in the UK only they dont always have everything in stock so you need to email them first to check. But they delivered a replica to me in Scotland in good time. The price was also one of the cheapest I saw (from within UK anyway). Didn't get an blank firing ammo though - that might be different. They are good replicas though.

Good luck!

The only guns that I know you can get silencers for are airsoft guns.

I don't know of any replicas with silencers.

Are the airsoft guns and the cap guns heavy in weight like a real gun would be or do they feel light and hollow like toys?
