Sunday Times: One possibility is said to be Chris Feeney, the Irish actor who once served with the American army. He is believed to be quietly confident about getting the role.

According to that webpage, he is 5'9. If he is a genuine candidate it proves Eon is looking at shorter actors.

Must say, you'd think he would have a better photo on site. One without him wearing shades. Go figure!

Ugh! No, not this guy... I'm sorry, but I don't think he resembles Bond in any way shape or form -- even if his hair was differnt. Maybe "Rogue Agent" from the new EA Game (even that's a bit of a reach), but not Bond. I certainly hope this guy isn't in the running.

Ha-ha, this bloke looks like one of those 'limp' hairdressers from a reality show!. If EON cast an actor like him, I'm topping myself and I wish my ashes be scattered over 'Piccadilly Circus'.

I think the only person pushing Chris Feeney for the role, is Chris Feeney's Agent ,via a contact he has in the Sligo Times or some such Irish local newspaper.

They reported that he was up for the role " following talks between Barbara Broccili and his agent."

AGENT "How about my boy Chris Feeney for the Bond role. He used to be a paratrooper you know."

AGENT (too Chris) Well we've had talks and I think she's keen. Lets write up a press release."

NOT a candidate IMHO based on his photo's, plus he's now too old at 36, for the new trendy teeny Bond. Mind you the mere mention of a name in the press certainly makes the Bookies move. 8/4 odds on Feeney now. Not far behind Farrell.

Actually guys this feeney guy has a u.k agent at imagemanagement.co.uk called adam chapman who has saville row tripping over themselves to make feeney suits for his meeting with debbie mc william casting at eon in january.Not only that he has been invited to be guest at the reel/tv/film charity bash in lillies bordello sunday nite in dublin.He is shooting 3crosses in january and has a vancouver date after that.Dont discount him because of the pics here cos the press are allover him in the ststes throughn his association with langsyne president,nedstuart who incidentally is producing chitty chitty bang bang on broadway with.................barbara broccoli!!!!!!!!!He looks better in real life and has all the get up and go that they are looking for in the new bond.No known actor wants the flop to be theirs so he has nada to lose and a few million to gain one way or the other.He hangs with colin farrell and niall buggy and clive owen so he must be something or has something apart from being a qualified brave4(sniper)/paratrooper/stuntman/interpretor of italian/french/russian.I say way to go chris until you are stopped by the people that count........and as yet,that hasnt happened so maybe just maybe he could swing it,

According to that promotional webpage, Mr Fenney is 5'9" in height - marginally taller than me. Based on the size of the previous Bonds, Mr Feeney is not suitable. However, if it's true that he's been considered, Eon is prepared to look at shorter actors which opens up the list of candidates.

Calddagh, can you confirm Mr Feeney has screentested for the role?

Why do I get the feeling claddagh may actually be this Feeney Bond wannabee, or at least a friend of his. "Saville row tripping over themselves to make feeney suits" Suuuuure buddy, whatever you say. Quite odd that he just joined today, and his first post is one praising an unknown (who in no way looks like Bond). Besides, I don't care if he 'looks better in real life', I want Bond to look good up on the screen!

Yes, but if what this chap claims is genuine - and it's hard to tell - but if it's genuine it does indicate Eon is looking at shorter, totally unknown actors. That opens up the Bond race. Perhaps an unknown could appear and surprise us all. As the guy says, an unknown has nothing to lose putting himself forward.

I am all the more fascinated because I wouldn't imagine Eon would go for a shorter guy as Bond. So this could prove me and other fans wrong.

Well I pmed this guy and he gave me some details which the average fan wouldn't know about - casting details with MGM people. I've no idea if he's genuine but if it's a fake it's a well-researched fake. Based on the information he told me, it seems genuine.

Well, Moomoo, it's a little difficult to have a discussion about "I know something, but I can't tell you what it is or how I know it." Why not have your mysterious friend who appeared out of nowhere post their information to this board, so that we can decide for ourselves how reliable it is? Otherwise not much point even mentioning it, if we can't intelligently discuss it... no?

These games with fake accounts and usernames are so extraordinarily tiresome.
