"Near his West Hollywood home." Huh. I wonder where this pic was taken? Athena and I were doing much the same "stocking up on Thanksgiving provisions" yesterday near our West Hollywood home...and there was the crazy person screaming obscenities at God across the Whole Foods parking lot... Could it have been 007? :) :)

I think Dalton looks great. Bring him back as Bond, I say! Never say never. :)

Seems like he's enjoying life.

Ashame hollywood hasn't offered him any decent roles, so many good actors out there, bu don't think it bothers him, it's all work for him, some actors search for fame and success, others are content in whatever comes their way, Dalton is like that, just glad he did his 2 Bond films, and EON accomadadted his flemming approach, it was the flemming spirit he captured.

I am still waiting for the buddy movie with him and George Lazenby...kinda like the movie My Fellow Americans, with James Garner and Jack Lemmon. They can play basically themselves on a road trip. I'd watch it. Contrast the British Masterpiece Theater Dalton with, well, Lazenby, and it'd be a good comedy.

From what I can gather about Timothy Dalton,he wont give a monkey's about this picture. He can still look great when he wants to.All the basics are still in place,so its nothing a good haircut and a change of clothes cant fix.Better that, than looking like some perma tanned, plastic faced doll!

zencat...I am sure a tv exec is working on that idea as we speak....

I dare someone to go up to him and say, "Aren't you George Lazenby? I loved all of those Emanuelle movies you did!"

That's just lower than a snake's belly. :) The Sun has a lot of nerve. How dare they! Do they take some smug satisfaction in watching a movie star age? Do they think that it's outrageous for Dalton to gain weight, wrinkle, and allow his hair to thin and go gray? Come on, he's 58.

What does The Sun expect? That Dalton should have died young and left a beautiful corpse? :)

The article appeared in this morning's paper, here.

Dalton can look good when he wants, and if there were any chance of it, I'd love to see him come back for one final outing.

Instead we'll probably get stuck with someone like Orlando Bloom.

Its quite amazing this picture generated so much media interest. Its a bit pathetic really.

I saw him in January in the theatre and he looked fabulous and in the recent picture from the John Barry Tribute he looked great there also.He can look good if he wants/needs to.As a long time fan of Tim,I dont think being a fashion icon has ever been top of his list of priorites.

At least he hasn't gone down the the ridiculous route of having his ears pierced ala Harrison Ford or trying to look younger when he's obviously not like Micheal Douglas. Its far more sexy to have a few wrinkles and grey hair. :)

In 2000, when he did Timeshare, I would've agreed. He still looked fit and imposing. Now he looks like he let himself go a bit...but he doesn't look as old as Moore did at 58.

Yes, most of the recent pictures of Dalton I've seen (like when he dresses in a tux for some premiere or another)are much more flattering. This picture is not so flattering, but then again, I have yet to see a picture of a movie star doing grocery shopping that's particularly flattering. I think that Dalton could well come back as Bond. A hair cut, a little exercise and maybe a spot of hair coloring and he'd be ready to go. I've always wanted to see what a third Dalton Bond film would look like anyway. I like Dalton and his work, but I thought LTK was atrocious, and I'd like to have seen if or how Dalton would have recovered from it. I don't think it'll happen, but he is on good terms with Michael Wilson and Barbara Broccoli, so who knows . . .

And the idea of pairing Dalton and Lazenby together in a movie seems utterly brilliant, hrabb04! You'd better write down the idea and copywright it quick before someone steals it!

Of all the Bonds, Timothy's aged the best. Connery got bald and fat. Moore got flabby. Brosnan's aging but can't put it in terms though. Tim today still looks like he could play the part. Maybe he'll pull a Connery and come back. :)

Just kidding. Yeah, I'd love if he gave us a third film, but the happiest day in my life? Wedding and fatherhood aside, that's reserved for when Indiana Jones IV premieres. :)

Connery's weight seems to be okay as I've seen him. He looked fine considering his age in such films as The League of Extraordinary Gentleman.

I love how The Sun makes it sound like he's stumbling out of some liquor store. Actually, I'm pretty sure this was taken outside the Bristol Farms on Sunset and Fairfax, an "upscale" grocery store specializing is natural foods, etc.

Neither, and the future doesn't look too good in that respect. Hahaha.

I'd say Indiana Jones is right up there with A third outing by Mr Dalton. Though I heard from someone that Harrison Ford isn't going to be Indiana again, I hope that isn't true.

That's just a rumor. Harrison Ford will be Indiana Jones, and since Frank Durabont's script was rejected by George Lucas last spring, a new writer has been hired to rework it (though he's not been announced as yet). If Durabont's script had been accepted by Lucas (Spielberg reportedly liked it), we'd already be filming, but right now it looks like, depending on what Spielberg films after War of the Worlds, that Indy IV will arrive sometime in 2006.

With Harrison Ford in the fedora, of course :)

^Yeah, it wouldn't. The only person I'd accept playing him other than Ford would be Sean Patrick Flannery, playing a younger version of course, just like he did on TV.

Incidentally, though, all we know of Indy IV for sure is that it will happen in 1955 (thus the character will be 56, and Ford is 62) and it will explore Indy's aging as a major theme. There's also the still-persistent 4 year old rumor of Natalie Portman playing Indy's daughter, and APPARENTLY one of the things that caused Lucas to reject Frank Durabont's script was that he didn't like the characterization of Indy's brother.

And that's all that's known about the project. Only Spielberg, Lucas, Ford, whoever is rewriting the script and Frank Marshall know more. It just pisses me off that Durabont's script was turned down by Lucas! Filming would have started this past June if Spielberg had overruled him! Now we have to wait to see if the project is still on!
