September 22
1959: Jack Whittingham had his first meeting with Kevin McClory about what would eventually become Thunderball

Ah, what fun that turned into.

September was a good month for Bond the character as well.

It's when he met Tracy.

"But today is the thirteenth, Commander."

I suppose we all better be superstitious on the 14th.

Nice one, Donovan. Would have been great to include this.

Really glad you like it, Goldfinger007!!!

One of the things listed in the events section, I'm totally interested in.
Does anyone know more about this?

October 5 1983: Asteroid 9007 James Bond was discovered by Antonin Mrkos at the Klet Observatory in the Czech Republic. It is named in honour of Ian Fleming.

I was hoping something more positive than Caspar Fleming's death would have occured on my birthday, Oct. 3.:)

Oh well, I've got plenty of great memories of getting Bond stuff for my birthday to make up for that. :)

By the way, I really enjoy these features where we see what happened in Bond history.

Round the corner from where I used to work as a network technician/tech support guy was a whore house called Xanadu...one can only guess on their 'productions' :)

According to this the asteroid will be closest to Earth on April 23 next year. It'll get as close as 1.84 AU (1 AU = approx 93 million miles - the distance between the Earth and Sun). :)

Another date to mark down. :)

Read the article and look for Xanadu productions.

It's just a little anecdote, sorry for my irrelivant British humour.

I think the first entry should read 1961 - not 1963.

Dr No came out Oct 62, FRWL came out Oct 63.

So announcing that Connery was Bond in November 1963 is a little redundant.

Was it really necessary to include the Vincent Canby comment against Roger Moore?
