There's no doubt he's a marketing genius and a creative storyteller, but he later claimed he had no idea Darth Maul would be so popular and he showed him being killed to do away with him so he wouldn't overwhelm everything else. He also made a claim years ago that he couldn't understand why so many people liked Boba Fett, who became one of the most popular characters in the original trilogy. So we should endure insuferable do-gooders and innocent child-like stuff that would make one want to turn to the dark side?
Yeah, I'm getting excited about Revenge of the Sith now.

You know, I'm with Geoge Lucas on Boba Fett. I guess he's kind of cool, but I don't see why so any fans absolutely love him. He doesn't say anything, is only on screen for about 5 minutes, and dies the biggest "punk" death of any SW character.

But that's why he had a lot of appeal -- the guy was only in the film for a short amount of time and he made a huge impression whereas we were bludgeoned with a Jar-Jar or Ewok for much of their films.
As for his "punk" death, that was Lucas having the final say for a character he didn't personally prefer. Often it's the villains who are more intriguing than the heroes and apparently a lot of fans felt this way about many of those in the Star Wars saga.

That's the thing, I never have seen the appeal. He didn't stand out from the rest of the bounty hunters. He doesn't have a nifty outfit or say anything memorable. To me he's just kind of a statue. He's better than Jango, but I can't comprehend how such a small nearly insignificant character can generate such a fan base. I don't dislike him, I just don't get him.
The villains are more intriguing in these films. Han Solo and Luke Skywalker are very memorable heroes, but Darth Vader is probably the most chilling and feared villain in any movie (it doesn't hurt that he has the best theme as well).

EDIT: Finishing up now, the end titles are arranged differently, and some of the selections are slightly puzzling.

I saw Revenge of the Sith last night. I will keep this very short so as not to spoil anything. It is by far the best of the prequels. Lucas really seemed to get it right this time. I had some small issues but it is extremely entertaining, exciting and sad at times. The audience loved it. On May 19th make sure you have your tickets. It is well worth it.
I have a good feeling about this.

Did you check out the bonus DVD yet Johnboy007? I really liked it!
I only watched some of it because of the late hour, but it is nifty to see the great moments chronologically under 70 minutes with the best music of the series in the background.

Just when things finally get intersting they end the series.
There's always hope for the rumoured TV show.

Jar Jar has a very small role, barely speaks at all in the film. Music DVD is well worth it. Some people have dissed it, but it well worth it. Soundtrack is an absolute classic.
I would have expected more Imperial themes (Vader and Emperor themes), but the rest of the music makes up for it. This movie really get the "new hope" point across with the music at the end.

I thought Lucas said that is was always going to a 6-movie thing.
If that IS the case, and SITH is that good, perhaps a third triolgy can gain momentum.
