Exactly.  The people who gripe like that just make me sick.  The same types of Star Trek fans who seriously want to murder Rick Berman and Brannon Braga.  I mean, get real, folks!  It's not real!  You would think Captain Kirk was a blood relative of theirs, or something.
Thank God most of the people on this site aren't as bad as the rabid Star Wars and Star Trek fans.  Those people need some serious therapy.

Amen to that. There is a point where it goes from fandom to psychosis.

The author of the novelization is going to be doing a signing in L.A. tonight. I'm going. Is anyone else?

I saw an article the other day saying that Lucas is working on a six disc set of the entire saga with deleted scenes from the poriginal trilogy as possible extras.

Didn't we predict this back when the trilogy came out on DVD back in September?

I'm definitely not complaining and will probably be one of the people to buy it just as I am willing to buy the next incarnation of the Bond films if they offer me something different.

That will be a sweet little box set. What will he call it, I wonder? "The Star Wars Saga" maybe?

I think the designation was something like "The Star Wars Saga: Ultimate Edition" or at least that's the nick-name it has for now. It'll be an interesting set. I'll probably check it out, but the word is that it'll be even more removed from what the Original Trilogy was, with the Original Trilogy VERY updated to make it fit perfectly.

Same here. As for changes, the article quoted him as saying there would be no more alterations but really who knows with Lucas. Still, I'll shell out the money for it for sure. :)

Kevin Smith has reviewed ROTS, and has gone nuts over it. He absolutely loves "Sith", and in his spoilerific review here, explains all:

Kevin Smith's Revenge of the Sith Review

I really can't wait for Episode III at this point. It looks to be like quite a fun ride, and that for the first time in the prequels, Lucas, from a narrative standpoint, has gotten it right.

Someone videotaped the 7 minute preview shown at the convention in Indianapolis and posted it on the Internet. With the silhouettes of the other audience members it was like watching MST3K.

FYI: I just edited the remaining paragraphs I had originally written because I wanted to be sure I wasn't revealing anything.

For all of the carping and bitching about the dialogue in the prequel trilogy, try reading the 4th draft of the Empire Strikes Back. I don't know who to thank for re-writing a lot of the bad dialogue that is here.

Lucas has stated repeatedly that EPISODE III will be by far the darkest of all the films; I'm sure, too, that he's pulling out all the stops to make his final STAR WARS picture something to remember (especially after the decidedly mixed reactions to TPM and AOTC). So even those who passionately hate the prequels may be pleasantly surprised by III.

I hope you are right. I have no faith in Lucas anymore though. So I will not see III in the theatre. If people I trust tell me that it is a significantly better than Ep. I and II than I will rent the DVD when it comes out. Otherwise it will go unwatched.

A Star Wars marathon in london May 16 with III being the finale:

Happy to knock a few back during I, but I'd rush back to the cinema for II. I'd be quite tempted to forsake JEDI for the pub, though. :)

Wonder how many seconds it'll take for all the tickets to sell out?

I think they should do a six-film Bond movie marathon at a London cinema when CASINO ROYALE comes out: either the debut film of each Bond actor (DR. NO/ON HER MAJESTY'S SECRET SERVICE/LIVE AND LET DIE/THE LIVING DAYLIGHTS/GOLDENEYE/CASINO ROYALE) or "the best" film of each Bond actor plus CR (GOLDFINGER/ON HER MAJESTY'S SECRET SERVICE/THE SPY WHO LOVED ME/THE LIVING DAYLIGHTS/GOLDENEYE/CASINO ROYALE).

I knew this would sell out before you could say "Count Dooku". Oh, well, I've got me DVDs. :)

Star Wars day sold out in minutes

Tickets for a back-to-back marathon screening of all six Star Wars films sold out in five minutes on Monday.

Fans had queued all weekend to obtain one of the 1,000 "Galactic Passports" for the day-long event, to be held at London's Empire cinema on 16 May.

"This is the fastest-selling screening we've ever had at the Empire," said cinema spokesperson Katy Harris.

The marathon begins at 0700 BST and ends with a preview screening of new Star Wars film, Revenge of the Sith.

The film's UK premiere - attended by stars Hayden Christensen, Anthony Daniels and Peter Mayhew - will take place at the Odeon Leicester Square on the same day.

An army of stormtroopers will be "on guard" in the area, while the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra will give a free concert of Star Wars music.

Meanwhile, more than 30,000 fans are returning home from the largest official Star Wars convention in the US.

Star Wars director George Lucas was the main attraction at Celebration III, held in Indianapolis, ahead of the new film's release on 19 May.

"The whole phenomenon began with the fans," said Lucas, who attended science fiction conventions as part of his research prior to making the first Star Wars film.

"That allowed it to be a huge success from the first day the movie opened," he continued.

As well as Lucas himself, the convention offered fans the chance to snatch up movie action figures and watch the Stormtrooper Olympics or the DroidYard 500 race, featuring figures modelled on R2-D2.

Steve Sansweet, head of fan relations at Lucasfilm, said the four-day event proved so popular that fans from Mexico, Japan and Europe chartered jets to attend.

Hey gang, the Episode III soundtrack is due out in stores tomorrow (May 3rd!)!! It will also include a bonus DVD featuring 16 short films complete with music selections from all six of the films as part of Star Wars: A Musical Journey. Should be good! I'm definitely heading to the store after work to pick up my copy! :)

I've heard from someone that John Williams' score for Episode III is absolutely fantastic. Very dark, yet includes some of the classic pieces too.

As for the film, I actually have high hopes for this one after reading Kevin Smith's review. I know what happens already, but this has just added to the excitement for me. It looks absolutely spectacular from various shots and movies I have seen, so I hope it lives up to the big talk, as the previous films failed to do.

TPM minus Jar Jar is perfectly fine to watch, I was never really bothered by the movie. It was my first real Star Wars theatre experience, I guess that gives it some sentimental value.

AOTC bothers me simply because of Hayden Christansen. God I hate that guy.

I don't think I'll ever change my views on EPISODE I - it's just a bad (and boring) film, although it is very impressive to look at from time to time.

OTOH, I've always been a big fan of EPISODE II. It's probably my favourite STAR WARS film. Yep, I find it a more interesting watch than THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK.

EPISODE III will deliver the goods, I'm sure.
