Ah yes, now I remembered. I saw Honey I shrunk the kids at Disneyland as well. But the gimmick will only work if things are squirting and knawing at you in the theatre. :)

Lucas has alot of money to make that happen though.

Definitely the right words for the event. This one really (and rightly so) seems to be going all out compared to the previous two.

I went on that attraction twice! So I know how brutal it was as well!

I think they should go with the gimmick with the theatre seats in a shaky, roller-coaster-type simulation, like the ride in Disneyland. Now that'll I pay a couple hundred bucks for! :)

Something better than what it offers at the moment. Although it's been quite some time and they may have changed things around since.

Can't speak to Disneyland, but I am assuming it is the same one that is shown at DisneyWorld.

Is Disneyland as small as people say it is. I've heard that you can fit the entire California park into the parking lot for DisneyWorld's "Magic Kingdom." And thats only one of several kingdoms at the gigantic Florida resort.

In addition to "Magic Kingdom" you also have "Disney/MGM Studios", "EPCOT" and "Animal Kingdom." There's also "Downtown Disney" but thats mostly shops, restaurants and clubs.

Seems Disneyland is like a poor stepchild to the real thing.

Wasn't Disneyland built first?

I only been to Disneyland, always liked it, but never been to Florida, so I wouldn't know if I'm missing the "real thing" :)

I haven't seen anything in 3-D since some Muppet Show at Universal Orlando (I think), or the one week where ABC had all of their shows in 3-D.

I wish Lucas direct his efforts to gettin Indy 4 off of the ground, with someone else writing and directing it.

I believe so...

But everyone I know who has been to both Disneyland and DisneyWorld have said that the Florida parks are the better of the two.
And that the California resort is miniscule in comparison.

I like Disneyland better just because of the weather. It's just too hot and humid in Orlando to walk around and wait in lines all day in the middle of summer. The rides and attractions are better in Orlando, but the experience is better in Anaheim.

I usually go to DisneyWorld in October for that very reason. I remember I used to date a lifeguard at one of the resorts hotels and she got me free passes into all of the parks (my favorite is "Animal Kingdom") back in 2001.

Of course that was the best time because the recent 9/11 attacks meant there were no lines to get onto the rides.

3D these days is a far cry from the red and blue glasses. I recently went and saw NASCAR 3D at the local IMAX. They now use electronic glasses synched to the film, alternately showing the left frame and then the right frame. It is immersive and utterly convincing and the effect doesn't wear off.

I'm not saying Lucas should rehash old work yet again, but the CG elements would make good 3D because they're already 3D models. You just have to make two video tracks an eye width's angle apart to make 3D, as does Pixar when they make their View-Master reels.

However, given the actor footage was shot with a single lens, it might be difficult to create the "in the round" effect you get when you shoot with true stereophotography. If Lucas is developing software that will make 3D models of the actors somehow, well it might work. Otherwise we'll end up with essentially a moving 3D comic book: flat characters running across dimensional space. It would look like one of those shoebox dioramas you made in elementary school.

I used to play Rebel Assault on PC. I own Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast and Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy. Both are pretty much the same game, but it's fun to hack things to pieces with a lightsaber.

After having read the comic version of the movie, I just have to say--and I hope it's not giving anything away, but...I think Anakin Skywalker becomes Darth Vader at the end.

I read this graphic novel as well. And files of the complete audio novelization are online as well. It's just less than two months until the film is released and all this has leaked. Lucas cannot be happy. Anyway, I like what I've seen so far. And what's nice this time around is that every scene has a purpose and a payoff, as opposed to the vague filler in the last two films. And it was interesting seeing things from the Sith's point-of-view, as opposed to simply "black-and-white/good-and-evil". That's all I will say.

I'm going to get the novelization when it comes out next weekend. I don't really see the point in being spoiler free for this one, since we know what's basically what's going to happen in the end.

I don't think it won't make that big of a difference to Lucas' bottom line. I remember the comic adaptation of ROTJ being released about a month before the movie and the script/treatment for ATOC was online 6 months beforehand. The film itself is still the selling point. Ultimately, we all want to see what it looks like onscreen.
