Let Bond be Bond, and let the Bond girls be the Bond girls.

Overall, female Bonds. I dislike Jinx, but I think Wai Lin is a fantastic character. Mary Goodnight is the better of the two in her pair, but neither are spectacular.
I don't really like either though.

And you know what? I'm about to make an utter fool of myself by declaring that I love all the "extreme Bond girls" the Brosnan era's given us: Xenia, Wai Lin, Jinx and Frost. Hmmm.... I seem to loathe the concept of "buttkicking babes" on paper but welcome the female Bonds when they're actually up there on the screen. Go figure.I still love the (Brosnan) era. It does have the extreme Bond girls though.

I was using them as examples. Maybe this "very, very interesting direction"Female Bond's. What you're basically asking which of the pairs: Wai Lin & Jinx or Mary Goodnight and Stacey Sutton do you prefer?
that Bond 21 is heading to could include a new Mary Goodnight

I would say the only extreme James Bond girls, or women I should say in the Brosnan era are Wai Lin and Jinx. Xenia and Miranda Frost are both femme fatales, slightly different IMO. Looking at it from a standpoint of which Bond girls stand out for being like Bond, it's Jinx and Wai Lin.And you know what? Amen, brother.Let Bond be Bond, and let the Bond girls be the Bond girls.
These blithering women who thought they could do a man's work. Why the hell couldn't they stay at home and mind their pots and pans stick to their frocks and gossip and leave the men's work to the men.
Makes me seem like a huge sexist posting that, but it gets me point* across.
*Dumb blondes, in case you didn't catch it

Perfection there. Can't beat that.I prefer dumb blondes. I wish they'd turn the clock back and give us more Goodnight-style damsels in distress. This PC "female Bond" business is a right royal pain in the

You can't when you have Halle Berry's Jinx, no. Far too irritating and overdone in PC, "I can do anything", and being equal.Perfection there. Can't beat that.I prefer dumb blondes. You can win both ways when you have a Bond girl like Wai Lin.

Nothing to do with that wonderful US 1-Sheet.Like I've said in other posts, Die Another Day seemed like a Halle Berry movie, not a Bond movie.

I can't believe the poster! That was so bad. Why can't Stephane Tron make them!Quite, that sick reject of a design that became the US main poster.US 1-Sheet

Stacey is probably my least favorite. Too much screaming.

This is the best type. If I had to pick one extreme or the other, I'd go for dumb blondes because they don't have action sequences that steal screen time from Bond.I like the ones like Tracy, a bit of both, but not leaning heavily on either side. The "non-irritating, non-screaming, Damsels in distress".
But ideally the girl isn't a screaming moron or a Bond-like commando. A girl who is witty and intelligent, but not an "equal to Bond" makes for th best supporting character. Afterall we know that NOBODY is equal to 007!

Well the publicity department knows how to make them, they were just a little bit off for this one though.I can't believe the poster! That was so bad. Why can't Stephane Tron make them!

Like someone else said, though. Tracey from OHMSS was the perfect combanation, even if Domino Derval does still remain my all time fave Bond girl.
Btw- When I say "I would go for the dumb blonde", that doesn't mean I in any way want to see another dumb blonde who just happens to be an expert in nuclear physics.

The gorgeous dumb blonde playing a scientist is a bit odd. Dr. Goodhead was at least old enough to be a Dr. and not rediculously beautiful like Denise. That was really bad casting.
If they ever cast Jessica Simpson, Hillary Duff, Lindsey Lohan or any of their ilk I am through with Bond. I will then only collect stuff from the classics as 007 will be dead to me.

Add in another vote for that idea. Those women are far better, but as this choice for these two types...a combination of sorts is the way to go.The gorgeous dumb blonde playing a scientist is a bit odd. Like it or not, there'll be fewer damsels in distress in future Bond films as times are changing. Even Izabella Scorupco and Christmas Jones were professional women who contributed to the mission.
Halle Berry on the other hand...I didn't like how they were promoting her as Bond's equal, especially since Xenia Onatopp, Wai Lin & Electra King were all formidable women.

Natayla was most definitely a strong Bond girl who fell right between the damsel/dumb blond and female Bond opposites. Worked rather well too.Like it or not, there'll be fewer damsels in distress in future Bond films as times are changing. Agreed about the point about Jinx, and Wai Lin was even more of an equal than she was! I guess it's just how the represented it, and marketed her character.
