Okay, first off just to avoid this thread becoming like all of the other ones, we will ASSUME that Pierce Brosnan is still 007 for Bond 21. Even if you don't like him or you like Hugh Jackman better or whatever, lets just pretend its Pierce. Based on that, what is the best plot idea?

If you're asking me, I want a movie that is more traditional spy flick oriented. Maybe not quite as clandestine as FRWL, but perhaps more along the lines of Thunderball. I think that Bond should tackle an International crime sindicate that plots to assasinate a British leader and Bond must get ot the bottom of it.

I know that's rather vague, but I'd like to see everyone's thoughts. I'll elaborate more on mine later.

But it sucks that we can't use S.P.E.C.T.R.E. correct? Because of McClory?

Doesn't even have to be S.P.E.C.T.R.E though. A new Org. that could be continued for a couple of movies would be a nice throw-back.

I like it RevolveR. A Thunderball styled Brosnan film would be great fun.

Things I want in the next one...

1)Less of a boom-bangabang type film. I'm not saying we have to go back to FRWL. Hell, something like TWINE will do, a film which was hi-tech and very modern, but never OTT.

2)A Bond film has never been to Australia, and Pierce Brosnan's Bond has never been to America. Perhaps one of these two never-been-done-befores could be remedied.

3)Let's have a European Bond girl. Richards and Berry were tiresome, and not just because of their lack of acting skills.

4)No revenge type missions. I want Bond to just want a villain dead because he is evil for a change (Like Goldfinger, or Stromberg), not because he killed one of his ex-shags, or because he used to work for M16, or because he/she grassed him into the Koreans.

That'll do for my input. I'll leave everything else up to the powers that be.

It's Election Time in Britain. After a debate between the Prime Minister & the Opposition Leader, the Prime Minister's Victory Party is bombed by terrorists.

007 and one of the few remaining 00s goes to find the terrorist organization responsible. When he finds them, he finds out that the organization is funded by the Opposition Leader. The Opposition Leader also plans to let the terrorists bomb Parliament so that he and his cabinet can assume extraordinary powers.

When 007 finds out, he has less than 24 hours to fly from the Middle East to London and stop the bomb.

Very cool. It reminds me of a Raymond Benson type plot. The Facts Of Death perhaps, with Bond rushing to stop the deaths occuring.

Yeah it's not a bad Idea, although I think that terrorists are way too overused in all movies lately. I still think that a more "crime" oriented villian would appeal to the public.

Perhaps they could make it so it is just a villainous organization and not terrorists. I'm with you, and I'd kind of not like to see them featured a whole lot in Bond films.

The thing is, I really hate terrorists and I can't go anywhere without hearing about them. I'm not saying run from the world's problems, but when I watch a movie, especially Bond, I like to forget about the real world. Terrorism was the main theme in 3 of the 4 Bond movies Brosnan has been in. People will still be interested in Bond if he isn't saving all of humanity every time he steps foot on screen.

I can understand that. "Come into a Bond movie, forget everything else."

I find it amusing that everyone on the Bond 21 Forums wants to post over and over again about the next Bond, however nobody seems interested in the movie itself. Although plot speculation is no more meaningful.....atleast its fresh!! :)

RevolveR, that's not really true. Alot of people seem to be equally interested in both the film and the future Bond actor.

I agree Qwerty. I'd love to know more about the next film's plot and script, but I think that little secret is going to be kept as tightly sealed as the next Bond, if they do replace Pierce. I suppose when they announce the next Bond, we'll start hearing a bit more about the plot of the film, then again....maybe not. It could be another few months of wondering and rumors....what fun!

Many more fun things in the world. :)

The script is equally as important as the next James Bond, judging by what Neal Purvis and Robert Wade have done so far.

Well Querty what i was refering to when i mentioned a lack of interest was the few posts on this thread, meanwhile Bond 21 forums are dominated by MOSTLY pointless acting rumors. I wasn't complaining about that, just making an observation.

And Pussycat, I'm not attempting to predict the plot of the next film, I'd just like to know what everyone thinks it should entail. This is your chance to be creative instead of relying on MGM or EON to give you ideas! :)

Ah yes, but those silly and pointless rumors (and there are indeed way too many out there currently) are due to the severe lack of news. I never knew it could be this tiresome on the wait for a Bond film.

Yeah it's sad when people have to make up news! Like the 30 members (slight exaggerration) who have "inside sources" at MGM. Maybe one of them does....maybe. And if so, let's get some news on when Bond 21 will be out! Or filming started! Or a Bond! Or a damned name for the thing! :)

I guess you can't really blame them if they only truthfully know what little information there is to give. Far cry on the name, that seems to come later and later into the project every time.

All of this wait had better produce the best damned Bond film to date!! *sighs* But it won't :)

Have to agree. Maybe we will be surprised though, that surely would be one of the greatest things to happen to this series.

So Querty (or anyone) getting this thread back to it's purpose, what do you think the setting for the next Bond film should be? I've heard alot of people thinking parts of it should return to the USA.

There was a thread on here recently about some stunning James Bond film locations. Personally I'm all for Australia, South Africa or a tropical island location.

If just in Europe, I'd say Italy might be the best choice. :)
