Interesting development:
According to Aint it cool news Brian Singer wants to do Superman Returns before tackling X-men 3. So, in theory, Bond21 could star Hugh Jackman and still come out November 2005. One of the main reasons why I never thought of Hugh as a serious candidate was because he was doing X-Men 3 next year - with that out of the way... well, who knows??

Well, I'm still having doubts that Jackman will be available anytime, anywhere. It all depends on his play on Broadway...

...but on the other, the story does confirm that X3 is scrapped (for now) and a sequel to Van Hesling is scrapped as well...

...more cheers for Hugh Jackman then!

This is pretty cool news then, Martin Mystery. I'd love to see Jackman take over the role whenever Brosnan calls it quits, if he hasn't already. We'll have to see what comes of this.

I always thought he still might have had a shot before, if this holds true, it looks like he'll have an even bigger one now.

Well Qwerty, you know I'm rootin' for Clive Owen, but Hugh probably wouldn't be half bad either... :)

X-Men 3 beeing postponed is a good thing , because that could mean the x-men team of directors and writers could be helming Superman (2005). :)

Indeed. Jackman is number one for me...but Owen is better than some of the other names that have been mentioned. :)

Yes......I prefer to see a new and damn good Superman movie than a X-Men 3 film. :)

Interesting link, Martin Mystery.

It's going to be really different to see another Superman move after all these years! Looks like they're going to make it better than they would another X-Men sequel.

A bit off topic, but what the hell: I hope they cast Jesus himself -Jim Cavaziel- as Supes. I think he's the only one who could take over from Christopher Reeve. ...And All Hail, Christopher Reeve, by the way!!! :) :) :)

I really cannot picture anyone who'd be perfect for that coveted role. I'm sure I'll like who they choose, but that seems like definitely a hard choosing process.

If you were planning to make a movie with a star who you thought was going to become red hot with James Bond, you might want to to make that film a bit later.

His Broadway show closes on 12th September 2004. Another show is already lined up for the theatre.

Well, AICN is notorious for misinformation. I'll wait till one of the trade magazines such as The Hollywood Reporter and Variety announce this. But if it is true, it's probably the best news that the Franchise had in 10 years. I won't speculate any further till something more concrete is announced.

As for Hugh on Broadway, his run ends in September but he's still scheduled to film The Fountain in Oz in November. No confirmations for X3 castings has been done yet.

1) PIERCE BROSNAN = JAMES BOND 007 IN BOND 21 !!
2) X-men 3 is confirmd for 2006
3) The remake of Superman is plant for 2006,so i think you must wait longer for the remake of Superman returns.

Superman V is suppose to start filming this September in Oz. And yes, X3 filming is to start next June, as far as I know Pierce is still Bond. :)

Well, not according to Harry Knowles - but we'll see soon enough if he's right or this is all speculation.

Brosnan still may be Bond until we get some more confirmation news, but you have to figure with everything that has been going on lately the chances are that he might be leaving, or already lost the role. Therefore one of these names mentioned might be taking it.

If it's not Brosnan for Bond 21, I want Jackman. So the fact that he's available... great.

AICN reports that the news about Brian Singer and Co doing Superman instead of X-Men 3 has now been CONFIRMED. IMO Hugh's chances of becoming Bond have now improved.

Well, well, can hardly believe that AICN got it right, though it was IGN that first broke the news. :)

Bryan Singer, Michael Dougherty and Dan Harris have all signed onto Superman 5. It's been confirmed that Bryan Singer won't be doing X3. It's too early to speculate what's going to happen to X3, whether it'll be postponed or not, but I do remember an article where Avi Arad said that X3 will start production whether Bryan helms or not. For the Superman franchise, I'm sure Superfans are jumping up and down in excitment, this is the best news they had in like 10 years.

But as I'm an X-men fan, I'm so disappointed. I'd love for Bryan to finish the trilogy. So far, there are no confirmed cast for X3, things are still up in the air. But you know, I'm still banking on Pierce doing JB21, have to keep optomistic. :) :)

Latest news from moviehole.net says that the X-Men movie is still on. In fact they are strongly considering to film #3 and #4 back to back. They say the only cast member who may not be back is Halle Berry. They are looking for a new director and to film "soonish".

If this pans out Hugh Jackman probably won't be available for Bond 21 especially if the two sequels are filmed back to back. Bonds fans will then have to say bye bye to Hugh.

I'll take your word that he isn't signed for sequel--I don't know. Are you sure? I can only go by what they said that all are expected back except for Halle Berry. They deem it likely or almost certain everyone else will be back. So we will see. It will be interesting to hear further news on the X-Men movies. Also I am waiting to hear what Hugh Jackman says next time anyone asks him about Bond. Recently it has all been he's too young or it's all rumors or no talks--no positive feedback at all.

Not sure. But last I heard about it from a Hugh interview (around the release of VH) he was not signed for 3 but he expected to. I suspect some news would have come out if he had signed.

I'll wait and see what happens with this flucuating news on if X-Men w/ Jackman is continuing or not. Personally I hope not. Depends on his contract for the series, but it's entirely possible he could go with Bond instead, given the offer.

x-men 3 is still set for release in may 2006, now with a different director, however, i dont know if the cast will return without singer. Therefore it maybe postponed, it may be scrapped, or it may continue with a different crew like batman. anyways, so far, jackman is still set to do x-men.

Is he still legally contracted to do so, Hoodman22? Or is it just that he looks to be returning for the role if X-Men 3 occurs. (I haven't followed Jackman lately.)
