Pierce Brosnan has been in quite a few movies, tv movies, mini-series', tv shows, etc... I personally enjoy him as an actor and so have want to see all his work.

I was wondering what you all have seen of Brosnan's work?

Yes, there is still a lot of Pierce Brosnan's work that I have yet to see. This is what I have seen to date:

The Long Good Friday (1980)
The Fourth Protocol (1987)
The Lawnmower Man (1992)
GoldenEye (1995) - DVD
Mars Attacks! (1996) - DVD
Dante's Peak (1997) - Video
Tomorrow Never Dies (1997) - DVD
The Thomas Crown Affair (1999) - Video
The World Is Not Enough (1999) - DVD
The Tailor of Panama (2001)
Die Another Day (2002) - DVD

From the list above my favourite's include The Long Good Friday, GoldenEye, Mars Attacks! and Dante's Peak. My least favourite's are Tomorrow Never Dies and The Tailor of Panama.

I've seen (and ** = I own):

**Die Another Day (2002) - superb.

The Tailor of Panama, The (2001) - reasonably good film, but certainly not great. Definitely the best performance by Brosnan I've ever seen - really impressive.

**The World Is Not Enough (1999) - James Bond's all-time low.

**The Thomas Crown Affair (1999) - good movie, with a nice performance by Brosnan (although he's outshone by Rene Russo).

**Tomorrow Never Dies (1997) - pretty good.

Dante's Peak (1997) - so-so.

**GoldenEye (1995) - very good.

Mrs. Doubtfire (1993) - pretty dreadful.

The Lawnmower Man (1992) - dire.

The Long Good Friday (1980) - good film, but Brosnan's only in it for a couple of seconds (hang on, did I just write "good film, but Brosnan's only in it for a couple of seconds"? Er.... :) ).

Not seen Nomads (1986), but I've wanted to check it out for ages since I'm a big McTiernan fan.

The Fourth Protocol (1987) - is this the one Brosnan's supposed to be pretty good in, playing a Russian agent?

Yes, Pierce Brosnan plays a ruthless Russian agent and plays him pretty well. I would like to have seen at least one scene with Brosnan and Michael Caine exchanging dialogue. The only scene they both appear in together is near the end of the film when they fight. Caine's character is trying to prevent Brosnan's from detonating a nuclear device.

It's nice to see some people have checked out his other films. I thought now I'd make some comments about his films that I've seen (and yes, I like how Pierce performs, so :) ...but that doesn't necessarily mean that I like the movie) :

Fave to Least Fave 007 Film:
GoldenEye (1995) -- perfect to a T
The World Is Not Enough (1999) -- Great, minus Christmas
Die Another Day (2002) -- Great, minus Jinx
Tomorrow Never Dies (1997) -- blech, but I love Pierce & Paris

Laws of Attraction (2004) -- I thought it was a cute movie. I didn't leave the theater unsatisfied.
Evelyn (2002) -- GREAT performance by him... absolutely wonderful! The little girl in the film is so cute and good too.
The Tailor of Panama (2001) -- I loath his character in this movie. But that's the point the guy he's playing is slimy, so that means he preformed well. In fact everyone in the film I feel preformed well.
Grey Owl (1999) -- Pierce was good. Interesting story.
The Thomas Crown Affair (1999) -- like it all, minus Rene
Robinson Crusoe (1997) -- I think this is a very enjoyable film.
Dante's Peak (1997) -- LOVE this movie! But that could also be attributed to the fact that I was born in Washington State and know all about the Mt Saint Helens fiasco. Pierce is wonderful too!
Mars Attacks! (1996) -- I can't stand this film! But Pierce is cute none-the-less
The Mirror Has Two Faces (1996) -- Yawn, more Pierce please
Love Affair (1994) -- Yawn, more Pierce please
Don't Talk to Strangers (1994) -- I REALLY enjoyed this one. I thought he was a great "bad guy". I really like the part where he gets the glass ashtray thrown at his head and it hits him. I love Pierce, but you really start to hate him (aka: his character) in this film. And I think that's great that he can play that kind of roll.
Mrs. Doubtfire (1993) -- I like this movie. I think it's cute all around. And Pierce is great. The "Run by fruiting" scene and the scene were he has the allergic reaction in the restaurant -- are my favorite scenes.
Detonator: Death Train (1993) -- I have nothing to say... it was... what it was...
Live Wire (1992) -- Everyone in the movie is a LiveWire. Some stuff in it is kinda gross. A bit outdated now, since 9/11 ...but it's an interesting watch
The Lawnmower Man (1992) -- It may be B-Movie material, but the first time I met Pierce Brosnan was when he was filming this movie so I kinda have an attachment to it.
Victim of Love / Raw Heat (1991) -- Pierce can play a suave slimy evil guy. And he certainly did that here.
Murder 101 (1991) -- It's alright, the movie cops out at the end. As always I liked Pierce's performance.
Around the World in 80 Days (1989-mini) -- Seriously the BEST adaptation of this movie I've seen. Pierce is awesome. He has a very BOND like attitude in this film. (DON

All his Bond films. He is an okay Bond. I thought he was great in Remington Steele. I think he made a good taipan in Noble House, which was an excellent novel by James Clavell. Didn't I just read that Clavell's daughter was in a Bond movie? I also liked the TCA remake, and have the McQueen DVD. I thought Nomads was a great sci-fi concept.

The Tailor of Panama, The (2001)
The Thomas Crown Affair (1999)
Robinson Crusoe (1997)
Dante's Peak (1997)
Mrs. Doubtfire (1993) :)
Noble House (1988-mini)
Nomads (1986)
Remington Steele (1982-tv)

I think Pierce's most unrated performance is in Grey Owl. Not only does he look like the real Grey Owl, I think he captures the love of nature that Grey Owl possessed.

Although RS rocks, Brosnan's best performance on TV, and my third favorite all around performance is in the miniseries "Noble House."

All in all, here are what I think are his top five performances

James Bond (do I need to give the film titles?)
Thomas Crown (see above)
Ian Dunross Noble House
Archie Bellamy Grey Owl
Desmond Doyle Evelyn

Ah, if putting the 007 films in order from favorite to least favorite, then:

-- Tomorrow Never Dies
-- GoldenEye
-- Die Another Day
-- The World Is Not Enough

Die Another Day and The World Is Not Enough always move around though.

Oh, and Grey Owl was filmed on location in my province. That was really cool! I saw the movie, and he did a wonderful acting job!

In general: PIERCE BROSNAN IS A WONDERFUL ACTOR! NO FURTHER COMMENT!

Once I saw that Jim commented in here I thought, "Oh No!" But he was civil :) :)

Hey Qwerty, ya The Tailor of Panama would be a good choice - get it, watch it, be prepared. :) If you happen to go into a video rental place that rents older VHS's you might be able to find Don't Talk to Strangers, I'd recommend that one. And also Around the World in 80 Days (is on dvd), it's long but really good for a mini series about the 80 days.

Ya, I mean even I give it a mixed review. I like it on one hand, but then on the other hand I'm not sure what I think of it. :) I think it's one of those movies you have to see to judge for yourself.
