Just read a short interview with Hugh Jackman in which he admits he started out as a pørnstar (before TVs Corelli). See also the following link: http://www.imdb.com/...rd/nest/8179135

At least he's proven to be able to keep the... eh Australian end Up :)

Yeah and Brosnan's gay. :)

It helps if you actually read the link you post, rather than go off the message board it's discussed in. There's NO mention of Jackman, it's an article about hugh GRANT.

It's a rumour, and like with all good rumours it may or may not be true.

The thing I'm wondering is would any of you object to Jackman 'becoming Bond' should it be true?

And if Hugh Jackman somehow did a few of these movies why would it really matter? An actor always has to eat and pay the bills--it's a very competitive profession, even if, as in his situation, he's talented enough to sing well, dance well, and speak with a variety of convincing accents--plus do comedy and drama alike. If anything, all this would really do is make such things collector's items. After all,it's not as if he's chosen to continue doing them.Additionally, they shouldn't be considered black marks on Jackman's current dramatic career, nor seen as somehow immoral or as a sign of some lack of acting ability.Jackman's established himself as a very popular performer on Australian tv,on the London stage,on Broadway and in major motion pictures-and he's won awards (and been nominated for others) to prove this.

If this rumor is somehow true such information won't affect my impression of Jackman as a charismatic and versatile actor who could very easily make a great James Bond.

It would affect my opinion, I have been an ardent Jackman supporter. However, I can not bare to think of him being interviewed on the likes of Jonathon Ross about Bond, and this subject come up. It is not in keeping with the image of Bond, the audience of Bond nor the heritage of Bond. It is cheap and degrading to the James Bond legacy.

Indeed I would hate to see the film be made available for sale as James Bond-age starring Huge Jackman.

My support for Jackman is terminated!

Oh hang-on, I never liked him - damn!

Ah yeah, must be true!

And yesterday Elvis was discovered alive, aliens are real and Santa and the Easter Bunny were seen having lunch together the day before. :)

It looks like the usual crap found on tabloid magazine. :-/

This is the third place I've read this news today. Once was in a Van Helsing review and the other was on IMDB.

If Hugh ever got to play James Bond, I'm sure those tapes from his dubious past would be dusted off and reissued on DVD with new titles, such as...

OO6 James Bondage in: "THUNDERBALLS"
...or how about... "THE SPY WHO SPANKED ME"...or...
"THE MAN WITH THE GOLDEN TESTICLE"

Heh... Go ahead, try if you can come up with some titles yourself. Have fun :)

"...this is from The Daily Dish so it's accuracy may not be assured." Words to pay attention to.

If this is simply a smear campaign it's not very imaginative--why not go all the way and say Jackman's an ax murderer.Or,that Clive Owen is a transvestite.Or that___is a pyromaniac.Or that __has an unnatural fondness for sheep.Or that___ is a necrophiliac. After all,the accuracy may not be assured, but let's believe it anyway.....

If people don't want to see Jackman or anyone else other than Brosnan play James Bond why don't they just come right out and say it?There's nothing at all questionable about that. That's an opinion-it's a personal preference. But attempting to present and accept something that even the individuals who actually offer as something that may not be true as the truth surely is.Rumors always say more about the people who create and spread them than anyone else.

Chances are Pierce Brosnan will be playing James Bond in Bond 21.If not, it really won't be the end of the world and especially not of the Bond series itself.Every man who's played 007 has eventually been replaced.Eon has always selected talented individuals each time around. And it'll happen again-if not soon, then certainly in the not too distant future. There'll be a sixth 007 at some point.

It's not a smear campaign. It's not a rumor:

Quote Jackman: ''I won't do any more pørn,'' he says, a glint of deviltry in his eye. ''It's just too degrading. The catering sucks. It's terrible. And the money just isn't that good.''

Full interview here:
http://www.infobeat....ticle&id=274053

The man has done pørn, why can't we talk about? Why can't we have a good laugh about it? Hugh himself talks and jokes about it...

...I'm not sure it'll improve his chances with EON, though...

Um, I don't know how to break this to you, but, Hugh was being facetious. In other words, he was making a bit of a joke, there.

Ya, Jackman was totally being facetious there, agreed. Just the way he talks about it come across as, "oh come on people get real." :) I think it's safe to say that even though some woman may have imagined staring in pørn with Jackman (not me)... that he hasn't actually done it.

I'm surprised at the negative responses from everyone on here. Although I suppose the majority of sensible posters doesn't correlate with the amount of plebs present.

The pørn industry is just that - an industry. People choose to do pørnography because it brings in money to feed, cloth and otherwise sustain the existance of a human being. Sometimes people are left with little choice in how they get their money from it. You've all seen pørn, you've all looked it up in the window next to CBn so would you care to take a moment to continue to be hypocrites?

If the rumours are true then so what? Does the fact that David Bowie did softcore pørn in The Man Who Fell To Earth stop you from listening to his music? Does it mean that he should be lambasted and persecuted because of it? Has he been lambasted and persecuted because of it?

...?

Don't dismiss a person because they were involved (possibly) with the pørn industry which millions of people round the world look to. It doesn't diminish acting ability and it certainly shouldn't allow hypocrites to huff and puff about something they themselves indulge in.

Brix.

Of course he was a pørnstar! :)

His name tells all: Hugh Jackman! Only a pørn star can have that name. :)
