Where Do They Go From Here?

In the Summer of 1979, James Bond went above and beyond all other Bonds, making the journey into Earth orbit, with reality to spare. Where else could James Bond go?
In Christmas of 2002, James Bond struck the mother lode with box office grosses aplomb, making it the highest grossing (inflation unadjusted) Bond ever. However, with heavy doses of CGI and beyond the fantastic story elements, we are again left with the question.
Where Does James Bond Go From Here?
Pierce Brosnan has been quoted recently as saying that the producers don't have a clue where to take it next. Do they one up the next Bond, a la You Only Live Twice did for Thunderball? Or do they bring it back down to Earth, a la For Your Eyes Only for Moonraker? Or will there be another James Bond movie as we know it? After 40 years, is there really more we can do with James Bond? According to the current screenwriters, they are stumped, often coming up with what they deem to be original ideas, only to be shot down when reminded that it's been done before.
So, again, I ask you, where does James Bond go from here?

ive said this before but they should seriously do casino royale as an official bond movie. It should be very close to the book as possible and make it seem like it is actually taking place in the cold war era during the 50s-60s.

I think Octopussy is a very far out film, it's not too down to earth at all, that's why it works well.

Here's the way I see it, Eon.
Update the original films for the 2000s. Make the new Goldfinger, the new Thunderball, the new You Only Live Twice, the new On Her Majesty's Secret Service. I am convinced this is the way to go forward. Use the original films as the blueprint. Make all new stories, keep Bond modern fighting modern foes, but use the original films as the magic blueprint.
Forget all this deep character development and emotional turmoil.
Have M in his original office and Bond enters. We need to see Bond defer to M.
Create a new SPECTRE organization. Not SPECTRE - but in its image.
Have a simple good vs evil plot. No complex plots. Less chance of plot flaws that way.
Have Bond tough (but not a complete superman).
The women should not be Bond's equal. Sorry, but that's just the way it is in Bond's world.
Have jokes, but keep them subtle. Do not sign-post each quip.
NO PUNS!
The end should lead up to a big battle.
The film should contain (at least) three big set pieces.
Q's weapons should aid Bond, not save him.
The film could possibly leave one plot thread open for development in Bond 22.
And John Barry should score the music.
How's that, Eon?

I think the magic secret is to create a new SPECTRE. I think the whole plot can stem from that. I know Eon doesn't hold the rights to SPECTRE, but surely they can create some new organization.
If you create a new organization and give them real menace it should create an interesting starting point by which to develop a story. The whole Bond community is crying out for the new SPECTRE or SMERSH. Surely now is the time to create some new enemy for Bond to fight?

I am a fan of a UK comic book character and I went on about how crap the official computer game was going to be. I begged the developers to delay the release and alter the game. They didn't. Suffice to say, I was right and the game got many bad reviews (4 out of 10s) and was a massive flop. What I am trying to say is Eon won't listen to us. I know from bitter experience how hard it is to convince the powers-at-be to listen to fans. To listen to sensible advice. Eon will do what it wants. Fans are there to buy tickets, not to give advice.

I believe they should create a new SPECTRE and embrace the classic Bond elements of the 1960s. But that's just my opinion. If Barbara Broccoli wants to go another route, that is her right.

Agree with your opinion.I think it should be a non famous actor to be a villain.or just an older actor with experiance.
