The Red Hot Chili Peppers are my favorite rock band. I saw them in concert in September 2003. In November 2003, they released a greatest hits CD. Are any of you fans of their music? If so, which CD's do you own?

Studio Albums
1984: Red Hot Chili Peppers
1985: Freaky Styely
1987: The Uplift Mofo Party Plan
1989: Mothers Milk
1991: Blood Sugar Sex Magik
1995: One Hot Minute
1999: Californiacation
2002: By The Way
2006: Stadium Arcadium
2011: I'm with You

Well, this is one band I haven't listened to as often as others, but I don't mind their music at all and some of their songs are very cool!

I don't own any of their CD's, but I am aware of the Greatest Hits one that just recently came out, I've looked it over at amazon.com and I'll have to listen to a few songs on it the next time I visit a music store.

I guess Bond fans and The Chillies don't mix too well. I for one have never been a fan of them - not my type of music.

I think they're pretty cool. Don't have any of there CD's but I like to listen to them on the radio. I didn't realize they have been around for 20 years.

I love them Righty. In fact I even think that, handled with care, they could do a great Bond theme tune. They're not all that heavy rock all the time.

They're cool, Righty. I don't own any of their albums but perhaps I should get my hands on the Greatest Hits one.

Always liked the Peppers, Righty.

Don't know if I still have them (lost a bunch of CD's when we moved two years ago), but I at least used to have Blood Sugar Sex Magik, Mother's Milk, & Red Hot Chili Peppers, as well as a collection of B-sides, outtakes and remixes (forgot what it was called).

I occasionally saw Anthony at nightclubs in Newport Beach (If memory serves, it was on the nights that Dave Wakeling played) back in the early 90's. Ah, those Jagermeister days.....

I am SO looking forward to their new double album, which was originally going to be a three album trilogy, Stadium Arcadium. I LOVE the new single, Dani California, reminds me of their older stuff from Mother's Milk. The video is absolutely hillarious!! :D

I always used to lump the Chili Peppers in with acts like Faith No More and Lenny Kravitz, i.e. as very manufactured and more about (a slightly embarrassing) image than music. But John Frusciante's a talented bloke (although I'm aware he wasn't in the band from the beginning), and I'm rather fond of that "Californication" song. Might have to seek out more of their stuff.

Artist: Red hot chili peppers
Song: Can't Stop
Album: By The Way
and great video too

Can't stop addicted to the shin dig
Cop top he says I'm gonna win big
Choose not a life of imitation
Distant cousin to the reservation
Defunkt the pistol that you pay for
This punk the feeling that you stay for
In time I want to be your best friend
Eastside love is living on the westend
Knock out but boy you better come to
Don't die you know the truth is some do
Go write your message on the pavement
Burnin' so bright I wonder what the wave meant
White heat is screaming in the jungle
Complete the motion if you stumble
Go ask the dust for any answers
Come back strong with 50 belly dancers

(chorus:)
The world I love
The tears I drop
To be part of
The wave can't stop
Ever wonder if it's all for you
The world I love
The trains I hop
To be part of
The wave can't stop
Come and tell me when it's time to

Sweetheart is bleeding in the snowcone
So smart she's leading me to ozone
Music the great communicator
Use two sticks to make it in the nature
I'll get you into penetration
The gender of a generation
The birth of every other nation
Worth your weight the gold of meditation
This chapter's going to be a close one
Smoke rings I know your going to blow one
All on a spaceship persevering
Use my hands for everything but steering
Can't stop the spirits when they need you
Mop tops are happy when they feed you
J. Butterfly is in the treetop
Birds that blow the meaning into bebop

(Repeat chorus)

Wait a minute I'm passing out
Win or lose just like you
Far more shocking
Than anything i ever knew
How about you
10 more reasons
Why i need somebody new just like you
Far more shocking than anything I ever knew
Right on cue

Can't stop addicted to the shin dig
Cop top he says I'm gonna win big
Choose not a life of imitation
Distant cousin to the reservation
Defunkt the pistol that you pay for
This punk the feeling that you stay for
In time I want to be your best friend
Eastside love is living on the westend
Knock out but boy you better come to
Don't die you know the truth is some do
Go write your message on the pavement
Burnin' so bright I wonder what the wave meant

Kick start the golden generator
Sweet talk but don't intimidate her
Can't stop the gods from engineering
Feel no need for any interfering
Your image in the dictionary
This life is more than ordinary
Can I get 2 maybe even 3 of these
Come from space
To teach you of the pliedes
Can't stop the spirits when they need you
This life is more than just a read thru

I don't really care much for them. I have no idea what they're saying half of the time and they are ridiculously overplayed.

Actually just got Stadium Arcadium last week. The only thing I don't like about it is that there are some very good tracks, but some that I don't like as much either. Should've just been one disc of gold.

Still definitely one of my favourite bands, though.

My favourite tracks on Stadium Arcadium so far:

Dani California
Stadium Arcadium
She's Only 18
Slow Cheetah
Torture Me
Wet Sand
Desecration Smile
Tell Me Baby
She Looks to me
Storm in a Teacup

Hope to get to see a concert sometime.

I love the album as a whole, but overall prefer the Jupiter disc to the Mars disc (though Mars is growing on me).

My favorite tracks so far:

Dani California
Warlocks
Charlie
So Much I
Animal Bar (very unusual for the Chili Peppers, but I like it!)
Tell Me Baby
Strip My Mind
Stadium Arcadium

I just found this, so I'm replying. I just own Stadium Arcadium, but the only track I really like on the Mars is Tell Me Baby and Death of a Martian. My favorite off of the Jupiter is She's only 18 (it's just my inner rebellion)

I think they're a great band Righty.
I have By The Way and love it. :cooltongue:
They are very popular Down Under, i think Flea is from Melbourne( my home city).
And i think a Bond Theme from the Peppers would be awesome.

I love them, but I'm still not sure what to post in this thread.

Um, what's your favourite song, everybody? Mine's probably "Dosed."

P.S. I own Stadium Arcadium, Greatest Hits, Californication, and By the Way. I also have one of their live DVDs but I've never gotten around to watching it.
