Height - 5'11"
Age by 2007 - 44

"Graduated from Laurence Olivier's 'alma mater', the Central School of Speech and Drama, and became popular in his home country of England for his performances on both television and stage."

Somewhat of a dark horse in regards to the role of Bond, but would perhaps give a more Dalton-esque interpretation. Played a Bondian role in the 2002 film 'The Tuxedo'.

Looks the spitting image of Dalton, too.

Saw him in Peter Pan just two days ago. He'd be good, but yes, probably too old to do too many flicks once Brosnan steps down.

Well, I meant by the 'But.....' that I just don't think he would be good for the role. I like some of the other contenders a little better, but none of them have jumped out at me.

I like the guy a lot. If EON were ever serious about this 'Back to Fleming' approach they keep harping on about then he'd be a terrific choice. Age isn't a huge obstacle. If Isaacs was signed up for Bond 22 then I don't see a problem with him having a four picture run as 007. Of course, that's providing the series doesn't take another long break and EON returned to producing a new film every two years.

But odds are the producers will be looking for someone more in the Brosnan mould, so I don't fancy our chances of seeing Jason Isaacs as Bond number six.

Whether you think he is a good choice or not, he is still a phenomial villain choice. If you want proof, then check out The Patriot. He is very menacing and just phenominal.

I haven't seen Isaacs in anything, and the pic on this thread is the first I've ever seen of him.

Unless I need my eyes tested, he's chubby, as well as very thin indeed on top. And not a spring chicken, either, by the looks of it.

I'm all for him.

The Tuxedo (with Jackie Chan) is the role where Isaacs essentially plays James Bond when he plays a tuxedo wearing British Superspy Clark Devlin who happens to live on Fleming Street. Though I believe Isaacs would play the real Bond in a more serious manner (though he does plays Devlin seriously).

I think he would be a good choice and would be another Timothy Dalton.

I happen to like 'The Tuxedo',, it's crazy but with great action and stunts.

Cheers,

Ian

Does anybody have a photo of him looking more Bond-ian? Perhaps with more hair? It's tough to make judgement with that photo.

Believe me, this man should be Bond. He has that edge and hardness that we always hear about. Ok, he's not quite 6', but his hair could take him to that height.

Cheers,

Ian

5'11'' is tall enough IMO. Plus there are ways to make an actor look taller.

EDIT: He reminds me a bit of Sean Bean, who was once considered for the role of Bond if I'm not mistaken.

Pointless bit of Jason Isaacs trivia.
He was in the movie 'Event Horizon' and is a mate of the director, Paul W.S. Anderson. Now I could well be wrong here, but if you skip to the end of Anderson's 'Resident Evil', there is a brief shot of two guys in surgical masks and scrubs. They're unaccredited but I'm pretty convinced the bloke on the left is Isaacs.

It is Isaacs. I believe he did that cameo appearance because he was already set to play a major role in the sequel.

Personally I don't think Isaacs will get the part. I really love him as an actor, but 5'11 is too short imho and he ain't getting any younger.

Yet another late night perusal of this wonderful message board!! :) Regarding Jason Isaacs, my first impression of the man was made upon seeing 'The Patriot', which I also own on DVD. When I first saw Isaacs, I was awed by how much this man reminds me of Timothy Dalton!!! Which is a good thing, as I'm...and ever shall be...firmly entrenched in the Dalton camp!!! Upon viewing 'The Patriot' it occurred to me that this man would make for an excellent James Bond!! Never mind the high widow's peak...nothing any makeup artist or hair dresser could'nt fix. This man can act and he has an imposing bearing and a radiant presence on the screen!! I would'nt be at all displeased if he got the role after Brosnan. Someone asked for a more 'Bondish' pic of the man...here's the best I could find.

If he change his aircut a little bit , then he's the perfect choice for the role.
Has the looks , good actor , british , the most similar fisically to Ian Flemming's Bond in the books , so I think he is a good choice.

He looks like Hoagy Carmichael, which is Fleming's base for Bond. I have to see a movie of his, then i will make my decision.
